There are three key points I will cover here:

  1. If you project through your speakers instead of headphones, you can get feedback between your microphone and speakers
  2. A basic Voicemeeter setup will give you feedback from Discord. In other words, when someone else is speaking, Voicemeeter will throw their voices back at them with a delay, which is really annoying
  3. Adjusting Discord options to avoid feedback from others
#

Step 1) is easy. See the circled "A1" button below:

#

If you click on that and turn it off, the microphone will still project to everyone else (B1), but not back through your speakers (A1).

#

Steps 2) and 3) come together in a pair. First, the easy part. Click B1 under Voicemeeter AUX I:

#

One way to think of this is that it's the opposite problem from what I described above. You DON'T want to re-project the audio output from Discord back into your virtual input (B1), but you DO want to hear Discord from your speakers/output (A1).

#

But that's not enough! One last step. Step 3)

#

Back to user settings in Discord

#

Like last time, go to Voice & Video from the tabs on the left side

#

Here's the culprit. This will combine with Step 2) to prevent you from replaying other people's voices:

#

If that's confusing, "it just works", but a further explanation would be that that's where you mapped your special "do not feedback to input" output earlier from Step 2):
