#Best way to get clean audio w/o a mic?

I want to start recording covers (in fact I've already posted one, which was more of a test), but I've only got my phone and no budget for a microphone. My first cover had relatively clear audio, but it still has a bit of a like...spacey sound if that makes sense? Like, it's obvious its a phone. I don't have the biggest problem with that, but I do plan to start gaining a platform and the best way to do that is with good mic quality. Does anyone have any tips on how to get cleaner audio (preferably without having to do like editing and stuff? I'm fine with it, I'd just prefer not to lol)
Thanks for reading, any help appreciated :)

Also here's some things to keep in mind

Remove your phone case before recording since it might block or mess up the audio

Try to minimize all other background noise when recording (woah, who knew)

Other than that just treat your phone's microphone like any other microphone and sing from around 6 to 12 inches away. If you're having problems with "windy" noise like the noise from those outdoors phone recordings when it's really windy, you could try to sing at an angle from the phone microphone and see if it fixes it. Or you could steal one of your dads socks, perform plastic surgery on it, and make it into a makeshift pop filter

If you can't bother with the editing part it really helps to have someone do it for you. I'd be glad to help you out with it if you'd want that

I would say embrace the quality not being the best, maybe lo-fi it.
