I want a good quality mic but budget friendly, if you find anything above that price it’s fine if it includes a mic stand and other necessities.

fifines usb mics are good for the price!

distant kite

Probably a presonus revelator

AT2020 USB mic is the way to go

#

It's a bit more expensive but much more worth it

at2020 usbs are great!! but she asked for under 60 and i dont think you're finding one under 60

#

cheapest it's ever been new is like 90 euro

#

same for a presonus revelator, I actually have a revelator interface myself and its great, but no way in hell you're finding a revelator mic new under 60

still axle
#

You don't buy a mic for under 60

#

It's pointless

#

Spend the money and get a decent one

distant kite
#

Even cheap condensers are notorious for this problem

still axle
#

Yeah but you get a what, 20 dollar foam or a blanket over you and you're good.

pearl edge
#

You aren't really getting good quality for $60

#

The cheapest I would recommend is getting an maudio mtrack solo audio interface with an xm8500, that will be about $70, with xlr cable that bumps it up to $80, and maybe also get a cheap microphone stand

worldly geode
#

I still think that people are a bit overselling here. the m-track solo alone is going to be like 35 euro on sale

#

xm8500 is a nice xlr dynamic for the price tho! you can find them for 15 euro most of the time

#

and an xlr cable is about 5-10 euro yeah

#

so in total, on sale, that's about 60 euro

#

I agree with 0lc for vocals that condenser + foam/blanket insulation is the best choice, condensers generally capture more detail because they're sensitive

#

its also worth noting that presonus revelator mic has both a condenser and a dynamic variant (I'm assuming chris means the dynamic one)

@pearl edge @worldly geode @still axle @distant kite you guys think I made a good choice with getting the blue yeti??

pearl edge
#

No, please don't, it's made for casual use, not for actual singing

#

No matter what mic you get, you'll always be worse off getting a USB one rather than an XLR one

still axle
#

Blue Yeti is a big no. Get the AT2020.

Unless you want that aesthetic/ sound

#

Just don’t forget the egg cartons and the sock over it

still axle
#

I mean the AT2020 is good enough for the home studio of a aficionado or beginner.

#

And with a pop filter and cover its good.

distant kite
#

Which the problem is most noobs have no clue on how to position it and stuff

#

Cause that affects the sound you get out of it significantly

still axle
#

Hand's length away and upright and all should be good. Obviously facing towards you cause of the cardioid pattern.

#

Well that depends the porosity of the room's walls.

#

But that's why it's a cheaper starter alternative.

#

If you're gonna record stuff you rent out a space in a studio or pay the thousands it takes for a good XLR, sound proofing, mic and everything else.

A basic amp is already way over budget.

distant kite
#

The cable alone would probably eat half their budget 💀 unless they get something super cheap

still axle
#

yup

#

Hence why I said AT2020. It's literally what I have, with a stand, foam cover and pop filter.

#

Sounds solid.

distant kite
#

I can’t send it in but it’s the presonus revelator

worldly geode
#

presonus revelator should be fine

#

blue yeti and snowball are massively overrated
