You would want a DAW so you can record into
what's that?
that's a pretty complicated big application for people/musicians that produce music.
what Operating System do you use?
(DAW means digital audio workstation, btw)
i'd recommend 'ocenaudio' for a simple to use, but with good features audio recorder program.
There’s free ones online as well if for some reason you don’t want to pay or use a real daw like bandlab
But there’s limitations ofc
But daws like what they said above its for recording and making songs or productions
It’s a program that lets you record and make music
Stands for digital audio workstation
thx
I got some free time to mess around, if u wanna go at it together I can show you simple stuff via screen share
what OS are u on?
pc
using Windows OS?
yup
what version?
10s
10S.. hmm that limits u to stuff only in the Microsoft store
maybe u can find Audacity in there. idk
cuz if i remember correctly, 10S u cant install any other programs but the MS curated ones
oh
i checked audacity is available in the store from what I read.
ok
tag me when u get it, n maybe i'll be able to show u some stuff with it
neat
what do u have for sound inputs on your computer?
does it have an external sound card/interface ?
i think so
so if it has a LINE IN jack, you can send other analog audio (music or whatever) into it, and Windows should naturally MIX that in with the microphone signal
if u dont have line-in, just a microphone jack, and u want to record pc audio PLUS the mic, then i think it can be done but not 100% sure these days . Since Windows Vista, they made it hard
however, with Audacity, u can record music into one track
then set a new track, and record your speech/singing
ok
then select the whole singing wave form and move it a few hundredths or tenths of a second left or right to sync it perfect with the music track.
?
once it's perfect, u pick "Export Audio" in audacity, and it will save a file like mp3 or whatever u pick.
lol sorry i know it's a bit confusing to convey by text
i'll show u graphically
i'll need a couple minutes ok? i gotta find my other pc with Audacity on it
ok
k im back n on the thing.. go into the Study Room vc near the bottom of channels here
ok
Get bandlab and they have a nice DAW called cakewalk. Definitely start with bandwalk. It's pretty easy.
