You would want a DAW so you can record into

vapid condor
#

what's that?

#

what Operating System do you use?

#

(DAW means digital audio workstation, btw)

#

i'd recommend 'ocenaudio' for a simple to use, but with good features audio recorder program.

vapid condor
#

fiery bramble
#

what version?

vapid condor
#

10s

fiery bramble
#

10S.. hmm that limits u to stuff only in the Microsoft store

#

maybe u can find Audacity in there. idk

vapid condor
#

oh

#

ok

fiery bramble
#

cuz if i remember correctly, 10S u cant install any other programs but the MS curated ones

vapid condor
#

vapid condor
#

ok

fiery bramble
#

tag me when u get it, n maybe i'll be able to show u some stuff with it

vapid condor
#

ok

#

@fiery bramble i have it

fiery bramble
#

neat

fiery bramble
#

does it have an external sound card/interface ?

vapid condor
#

i think so

fiery bramble
#

so if it has a LINE IN jack, you can send other analog audio (music or whatever) into it, and Windows should naturally MIX that in with the microphone signal

#

if u dont have line-in, just a microphone jack, and u want to record pc audio PLUS the mic, then i think it can be done but not 100% sure these days . Since Windows Vista, they made it hard

#

however, with Audacity, u can record music into one track

#

then set a new track, and record your speech/singing

vapid condor

fiery bramble
#

then select the whole singing wave form and move it a few hundredths or tenths of a second left or right to sync it perfect with the music track.

vapid condor
#

?

fiery bramble
#

once it's perfect, u pick "Export Audio" in audacity, and it will save a file like mp3 or whatever u pick.

fiery bramble
#

i'll show u graphically

Get bandlab and they have a nice DAW called cakewalk. Definitely start with bandwalk. It's pretty easy.
