hi!! i'm kelsey lavey and i'm thinking about making a 15-song album named "hypothetical persona" like lullabies in a glass wilderness by katie jane garside on soundcloud before making an real album, but i'm very terrible at producing, is there anyone who can produce in the rock genre who can help me? i would like to see the examples on dm after you send a friend request, thank u from now 🩷

You can also look for online beats on Google or YouTube for specific artists and genres you want for a beat as well - that’s how me and my singers when we record or mix/master a song does after recording 🙂
thank you but it's very hard to produce a song at all.
No I get it - yeah if you can’t produce yourself there’s resources online or find in people online ofc
That’s also why I took the position of mixing and mastering and audio stuff - producing was not my thing I was good at
oh lmaoaoao
hi
omg hi
hru
i think im fine ty for asking, wbu?? (sorry for late answer also)
What’s funny is how people demand free beats when they don’t realize how hard it is to produce stuff, especially with live instruments and performances
I wouldn’t be against producing rock based stuff but I’m currently backlogged months out 😭
like yeah omg it seems easy but its literally hard inside
what kind of music r u doing?
get a daw and go hard
Mostly RnB, Pop, and Hip Hop based stuff
Until you’re stuck trying to learn the engineering side of things which isn’t easy to learn 🤣
that's very great!! i would love to see some work of urs
A lot of misinformation and gatekeeping that goes on unfortunately
oh.. yeahw
i'm trying, fl studio is very hard, bandlab sucks and windows is not good place for garageband
let take a look at it..
Wait until you learn about pro tools 😭
It’s great at what it does for recording and editing audio but yeah doing midi on it is an oof
THATS VERY GOODD
even tho songs like this aren't my style i still really liked it sm
Also the other thing is for most people pro tools is complete overkill, literally just get Logic Pro and you’ll be good
Or another one that’s nice is studio one
im gonna search for itw
Ableton too if you wanna make electronic based stuff and like the workflow with it
FL I started with and still use mostly cause the piano roll is awesome on it
A lot of my discography is unfortunately unreleased but I’ll be releasing more stuff over time
tysm for ur recommendations!! even tho it's so hard to produce an song i can get better.. i think
u should've done an album
Eventually I’ll offer services up on EngineEars for mixing and maybe mastering if I get some decent speakers and a treated room
For the artists I work with it wouldn’t make sense cause of the Spotify algorithm, singles and EPs are the move until a fan base is established
It’s just a lot of work and the payoff ain’t worth it considering how singles are heavily pushed
Especially considering how budgets have been cut significantly
yeah, that's true too.
it is a very wild situation that most of the labor goes unrequited, it sucks
however, these labors are so valuable that
That’s the arts in general, you’re underpaid until you make it, then are overpaid
It’s just only a select few get into the club
Everyone else is left fending for scraps
and people who do terrible jobs are extremely popular for that, for an example; taylor swift..
it is very hard for me at the start but you get better every day
you can also study music theory like keys,,,,, alot of resources on youtube
and you can take inspiration from your favorite artists
omg i'm literally looking at them like EVERYDAY and it's very fun at all, but really hard tho
im sorry im just a really diy person i like to do everything by myself but you can look for a producer but i dont know how cause i dont do that
i'm working on my vocals and song ideas for 3 years from getting references from my favorite artists, i really have great songs too and i even have an album with 19 songs and it's not the album im talking about in this forum, the problem is actually production and even tho i can create melodies with my mouth it's hard to make it on computer..
and it's okay
One of the studio owners I frequently chat and visit used to be in a rock band actually although obviously he's a professional that has a nice spot and quite a bit of work with clientele
that's so nice tho
but i don't rlly think that can help me with my album
I can ask him for some pointers and pass it along
Don’t mind sharing advice considering how hard it can be to sort through all the noise
