#Does anyone know how to record covers for youtube? I'm not sure how.

- You need to make a audio file then convert them as a video file like mp4 etc if you’ll upload to YouTube
- Recording covers you need a daw (music software) like fl studio, studio one, cubase, pro tools, ableton etc. there’s free ones like bandlab
- for the instrumental you need to either make it yourself or have a friend/someone else to do it or get a online beat from YouTube/google
For vocals you need a mic (or phone) to record vocals and you can do it on bandlab, if you have a iPhone 11 or newer preferably that’s a good one to use with voice memo as well, me and singers used it as a mic and worked fine
Music isn’t easy
When I made covers for YouTube I just recorded a video of me singing accapella and uploaded it
That’s optional - but if you’re looking for high quality professional sound, I’d say you can lip sync over the Audio file song (like how they do it in music videos) because you’ll need to record the vocals and stuff and mix the song etc
It’s more cleaner and professional sounding then just video by itself
That's true I only stopped cuz my views were low
THANK YOU!! I'll experiment with things when Thanksgiving breaks comes around.
If you need more help or questions just ask 🙂 been helping singers here for a while so I can help guide ya (recording or mixing wise and stuff)
Thank you! Your a life saver, I was struggling for hours the other day before just giveing up 😭
You can also use one of those AI vocal remover tools if you want to record over the original backtrack
I think if I’m not mistaken UAD Luna is a free daw
And UAD makes amazing stuff used in high end recording studios all over the world
I was wondering about this. When I tried layering voice recordings (Idk the terms), for some reason it doesn't sound like they blend well. Accrdg. to a YT video I watched, they said I needed to do mixing. I don't have any knowledge abt it. Help?
With layering vocals you need to try to time the recording 99% perfectly as best as you can especially if it’s doubles (matching the same note/pitch) unless it’s harmonies but you still need to match the timing as best as possible
And yes you need to mix and master - if you need help mixing just hmu
helloo. any beginner-friendly tips out there? 🙁
Oh so when you will gonna record a cover song, basically you need your audio file (your voice) and then put it in a music studio (ex: bandlab) and then search a background music (ex: karaoke instrument for the music), after that, you can record yourself and lip sync, like that?
Me and my friend was talking about music videos or just video with the music but lip syncing is a option or you just record yourself doing the actual vocals only on camera and mix it after and just upload as a music video that also works
But actually recording the song yes find the beat/instrumental and have earbuds listening to it and record your vocals only with a mic and that’s it - should be separated and yes have a actual software like bandlab or any DAW
Ahh okay, that's really helpful, thank you!! Anyways, I have mic on my room but everytime after I recording my voice, my voice sound crashed on my phone idk why...
What mic do you have
What specific mixing tips do you need sorry late reply LOL
The basic one, mine is live sound card V8
That’s why
A cheap mic = cheap spec = bad recording audio and bad mixing if you do mix
You’ll need to upgrade I’m not saying to get anything too expensive but it can’t be too cheap either
I tell my singers to least have a 80-90$ minimum and 500$ max budget or if they have a iPhone they can also use voice memo as a mic which works as good - me and singers has made a lot of songs and have very good mixes with it 🤷♂️
issaight lol. like even if I time it properly it doesn't really sound that good
like not harmonized? Idk the terms lol
It sounds like it’s just issue with the performance 🤷♂️ nothing you can do except just a lot of vocal practice tbh
