#Tips on how to start singing?

Either way, what matters most when starting out is building a healthy foundation and technique, so that you don't get into bad habits that can cost you and your voice in the future. How you practice is all about consistency and perseverance too. There's no right or wrong way to learn (in my opinion). A majority of how I taught myself was by singing along to the radio or musicals, listening to YouTube videos of covers and songs that I liked, and sang to myself on a daily basis. Whether that was in the shower (we all do that, hush) or while I did the dishes. So long as what you do is consistent and doesn't harm you and your voice in any way, and so long as you listen to constructive criticism and personally reflect on what you could possibly improve on, you're golden.
I've only had extremely brief formal coaching for a couple months, but what really summed up my growth wasn't just because of the person I paid to help guide me. In the end, a majority of your growth is on you. That choir teacher or coach is just there to be your resource, and you've got a lot of those resources for free online.
Also, keep in mind that thinking you can't do something holds you back. You can sing. Anyone can sing. It's just technique and experience that makes us feel like we can't do it.
Never compare yourself to someone else as well. If you think they sound good, they've likely got multiple years of experience under their belt. I've also done a lot of the stuff I've mentioned here: From comparing, to holding myself back because I thought I wasn't good enough, etc.
I personally wish I understood sooner that, a person can possess a natural skill or asset that can help aid them in their journey to get better at a talent. But we'll all never be born with talent, like what we've all been pushed to believe.
Anyway! I hope this helped you in some way or another. I know you can sing! :) Wishing you the best on your journey!
