Are there certain standards that all staff / trial staff / community moderators go by, for deciding the appropriateness of songs sung in the K-boxes? The "rules" post at #1029801454640320593 seems to leave it up in the air quite a bit- so is that the main answer to my question? Btw, do y'all think the staff & modmail roles would be mad if I pinged them for this question?

Think to yourself, "Would I sing this in front of my friend's 13 year old sibling?"

They should be:

  • appropriate
  • non-sexual (like straight up about fucking or whatever)
  • no slurs or excessive swearing
  • should be between 5-6 minutes max

Thanks Kate! I was actually interested in particular about your personal opinion of the song "Welcome to the Internet" by Bo Burnham- is there a general consensus of that song among the moderators that you feel you need to go by, or are you free to use your own interpretation of whether songs like this meet these standards? Is it ok to discuss things that are offensive about the song here? Or perhaps would it be better to do so by DM?
