#How horrible does a screenwriter have to be to have everyone be rude to the main protagonist?

I mean, maybe it’s not relatable to you, but I’ve been in situations where I dislike everyone and everything in my life, and whether or not everyone is actually bullying or being mean/unfriendly, it can feel that way from my perspective just because of the other things that I’m going through at the time

I’ve heard friends, colleagues, clients even who’ve described that everyone in their life is horrible or unfriendly except for myself or like one other person in their life.

It happens in real life. Albeit an exaggerated trope in movies, it’s realistic at its core and in theme—and that’s what’s important.
Fictional movies aren’t meant to be realistic, they’re not that literal all of the time, but the theme/message/moral of the story should be true

As the third thread that you’ve discussed this topic, it’s clear that this trope is not for you. If you dislike this trope this much, why don’t you write your own movie that excludes it? Could be interesting

I’d love to read it. I’m a screenwriter myself and I read scripts all the time

I think you missed my point

I’m happy for you that you have friends and people to support you. I wish everyone had that opportunity
