#šŗThe Penguin
1 messages Ā· Page 2 of 1
did u see the trailer for mickey 17?
nah i tend to avoid trailers š
depp would go hard as the mad hatter icl
I saw some reviewers said after the ending the penguin becomes top tv shows ever
Do yāall think Burton will direct another Batman movie?
no?
atleast not in the dcu
oh yea the guy that directed the flash is making the dcu batman movie
wait
so ign is smoking crack?
Iām not surprised. So far the Penguin is great.
i just looked up his profile, i mean... yeah ok
i hope victor survives and becomes zsasz
lol
i love his character and it would be ironic
Not anymore.
Ign is the worst place to see thoughts about things
wait what?
i kinda wanna see a del torro gotham
like if we got a mini series with court of owls, del torro would go hard
o btw
Benicio del Toro will play Bane
crack pot theory time but i think that carmine might have killed killer crocs mom
Court of owls is too in the future for batman
ur in too deep
š
Doesnāt really matter. Introducing Court of Owls make sense
idek what croc's deal is other than he's a crocodile lmao
So in the ending killer croc will kill sofia???
With the themes of the first film, it totally makes sense to bring up Court of Owls now
nah i dont think so
honestly i dont think they will even introduce croc into the reeves verse
Falcone probably wasnāt running Gotham alone. He had help and thatās where the Court comes along.
imagine that penguin ends with a man-croc just appearing and mawing sofia "10/10, pure kino"-IGN
cuz the riddler year one comic revealed that carmine literally disposes of his victims bodies by feeding em to a big ass crocodile
After credits
Killer croc is come out of the dark behind sofia, āyou killed my motherā
Black screen
The series ended
How
bold of u to assume anyone here can read
ok so edward found out abt renewal and began spying on the guy in charge of the money
I have already read it
only to find out that he was stealing from carmine to support his daughter
so riddlers boss from work who is involved finds out and has the guy killed by feeding him to a crocodile he keeps inside of a pet shops basement
and at the end of the comic riddler helps out the dead guys daughter leave gotham but before she leaves he orders her to free the crocodile and then lures the guy that killed her dad into the basement
where the crocodile eats him
i really wanna see batman taking on more grounded villains like zsaas, pyg etc. like really dark but "lower stakes"- i dont think we'll ever get a movie like that since its not as theatric
i went into the riddler movie expecting that but it ended in a giant explosion action sequence
Yoo pygggg
Weāve already seen too many grounded villains
next movies probably gonna focus on strange as the main villain
Pyg woyld be so good in the reeves universe
he HAS to be r rated to be done justice tho
i saw a report that itll be based on batman prey
There were rumours that Clayface will be the next villain
which is abt batman questioning his sanity while strange begins a smear campaign against him
I want a series bout pyg when its like se7en, memories of murder and he is killing peoples really gorey and it would be r rated
bro a se7en like pyg would be so hard
Yes ong
shit would be so narly
Lemme direct it
I think he will be introduced in one of the spin offs
@matt reeves
i would love a mix between se7en and dexter
like have pyg be a surgeon who is losing his sanity while tryna save people that were injured during the flood
When is harvey coming ro the reeves universe
and is slowly losing hope as the city gets worse cuz of it
soon
Funny considering Dexter Morgan is compared to Batman by the showrunner.
apparently there are rumours that hell be staring in a legal drama
i feel like reeves might avoid alot of the bale characters, give us ones we havent gotten yet
like riddler
He is not saving them he is killing them for lust
but homie had to shoehorn joker in there at the end (pain)
no what if he tries to fix them
And he would have a army of them
yeah pyg's whole thing is he wants to make people, women, perfect; so he kidnaps them and does fucked up surgeries
no what if he was a bit unstable from the start
and cuz of the floods he begins spiraling even more
like the sudden insurge of victims from the flood
plus his home life getting shitter cuz of it
and the surge in crime
like it just sets him over the edge and he snaps
and the show could be him slowly spiraling until he starts "fixing" people
honestly id love an r rated pyg but we aint ever getting him lol, unless the movie ends with some goofy ass spectacle like pyg has army of cgi monsters
miss me with that
In Arkham Knight, even the Joker hallucination was creeped out by Pyg.
victims numbering in a dozen is the sweet spot, but for big screen they gotta amp it up
what if he alters bliss to drug people with while he mutilates them?
Batman got so much cool villains
ye fr
deadass
its cause like its more grounded n shit yknow
can be more creative
instead of all those ridiculous ass villains the other heroes have
o btw i got a theory that crane was involved in creating bliss
spiderman and batman got the cool bad guys
yeah i thought crane was involved in it too
like he helped develop the formula and he will alter it into fear toxin
Julian Sands is probably Crane?
i was lowkey expecting it to be some adrenaline like LSD kinda thing, a minor scare toxin like meth
like what if crane is stranges assistant and he begins getting fascinated with fear cuz of the inmates fear of batman or something
I hope scarecrow made the bliss
or he catches a glimpse of batman when he comes to arkham to confront strange during part 2
in the comics i think bliss actually alters the users bodies
like it overworks them
This theory could work considering Sands is involved with Sofia.
are we that solid that strange is gonna be the villain for the 2nd movie?
Hot take
could lead into strange getting his monster men
I too think that Batman villains are POS
wild
not rlly
just speculating shit
rubes ur goin too far, joker is just misunderstood
only rumoured one we got is clayface
miss me with clay, but idk if they can make it work idk
Tbh Iām fairly confident itāll be Court of Owls and someone else
freeze is the most popular choice i think
Bring in Clayface
Court Of Owls as the big bad, Clayface as a guy for Batman to track down and beat up
Mr Freeze is too sympathetic as a villain
ngl most the really cool villains are off the list for the movie, at best theyll be secondary characters like penguin; the main villain has to be someone that ends with giant ass explosions n shit as hollywood demands
š
What does it imply
honestly how did ruby get selected to go watch all of the penguin lol
The main villain is Ruby Sunday. Miss Spoilers
Court Of Owls plotting their big purge from the comics, and you get Clayface in as their disguise-loving assassin
Thatās my bet
wait
what if part 2 is abt the court funding hush as he tries to smear bruce waynes name?
ok if we get owl ninjas ill conceed
The finale impliesā¦
Continue the sentence
I donāt think theyāll do Hush, only cos itās a very similar story to what Riddler ended up being
dont spoiler the penguin pls
yeah fr
spoil
Finale doesnāt reveal anything lol (or does it)
DM donnie for it, if you want LMFAO
Nah I was kidding. Donāt spoil
HOW MANY PEOPLE HERE HAVE SEEN ALL THE EPISODES
Dw Zum Iām only teasing lol
just rubes
Donāt wanna spoil anything
lucky ass hoe fr, my sad ass needs to wait every week for my fix
atleast i got other stuff to watch while i wait
terrifier 3
Need to watch this
what about ruby, she has good tastes i think
plus could go watch some classic movies
unlike donnie
like fanny and alexander
Lmfao irony
aight its like 4am on my end, imma hit the rack
gn punk
Pretty sure almost everybody watched it
i havent
If you exclude casual cinema fans
im lacking in allot of the big movies lol
What, in the world?
Iām not so sure tbf
I donāt wanna startle you, but the majority of people arenāt up to speed on their Bergman
Cool if you are tho
Which cinema fans havenāt watched Bergman
i havent
Donnie girl, donāt be a gatekeeper
havent even seen the 7th seal lol
Cinema Fan =/= seen every film
Aight Iām in bed on my phone, time to cyber bully Donnie
Iām kiiiiiddddddiiiing I love you homes uwu
Iām not referring to casual movie goers.
I found out I wasnāt a cinema fan when I tried to watch citizen Kane and turned it off from shear boredom
Iām referring to people like in the movie channel of this server for example.
So in your mind, anyone who hasnāt covered the filmography of Bergman is by default a casual movie goer
Imo there are levels
And blind spots
Thatās fine, no one has watched everything
yk what
just so i can be on donnies level
donnie give me all the directors a cinephile needs to know
Oh shit is Zum about to become a true cinephile
Tbh Bergman is like a starter pack for any cinephile
Heās not some obscure filmmaker lol
hell ill even go through the 1k movies list just to make sure i have that honor
Thatās the most pretentious thing Iāve read in a few days ty
Meanwhile me who doesnāt even know what the hell a Bergman is, my god Iām so based
Never said that bestie
i should have been doing a movie challenge this month
and tried to go through 300 horror movies
Rookie
ill start it tomorrow
If someone said to me āI want to get into filmā, Fanny & Alexander isnāt going in the starter pack
At most, Seventh Seal gets in
You serious? Sharkpunk
My g youāre the guy who doesnāt have an original thought
Itās all like copy paste opinions from right-leaning YouTubers lol
donnie go send me a directors list to go through rn
ill make u proud don
tho be warned ill probs go and draw while i watch some of them
i usually doodle while i watch movies lol
I need to see 12 angry men and schindlers list
The starter pack is like, Hitchcock, Kubrick and Scorsese.
Noooooo but Iām gonna
You donāt show Fanny & Alexander to someone who has never seen a film before 2000 as a āstarter packā
Unless youāre gatekeeping
u lucky bastard
I never had much of a chance to see a lot of the classics when I was younger, had to see godfather a couple years back for the first time
12 angry men is one of my fav movies
Oh yeah heard itās gonna be a ride
Great movie btw, youāll really like it
Outstanding screenplay
honestly my fav movie lists been changing allot lol
Lol you donāt know what youāre talking about half of the time. By the way you didnāt come up with that Hangman theory.
at first the dark knight was my fav movie of all time
then the batman 2022
and now its the long good friday
Oh I saw the pianist recently, the first half was really good: the inhumane treatment and stuff made me like physically sick
Thatās crazy bro, too long didnāt read
i saw all the presidents men yesterday, loved it
Watch whatever you want. If youāre watching Bergman, good for you. Itās just movies, not some important thing or anything.
Yeah itās wild how the bake joker movie still holds up
For being like a super hero movie
good
honestly i fr just wanna be a cinephile for some reason
even tho i aint really obsessed w cinema, i just like movies
Imo taking it slow is the right call
Donāt dive straight into the arthouse legends
and i have these periods where i try to just binge allot and that just ends up in me blending it all together and getting a surface level take
Youāll just burn out and wonāt get to appreciate em properly
Irishman, there will be blood, hateful eight- those kinds of super slow dialogue films, Iām a huge sucker for
Uh
Not too slow, like fast but dialogue
Slow for Sharkpunk
Yeah nah I meant like as opposed to theatrics
What was that one Korean horro film
The one with the disease
The wailing I think, that was too slow for me
did it have zombies on a train?
Have you watched Deranged?
No thatās train to bus an
The wailing was like 3hrs of slow camera close ups lmao
Half the time people didnāt even talk
i gtg see the wailing icl
honestly im considering just watching one movie
and reading reviews on it to form my opinion
and then moving onto another
One of my hobbies is like cuddling with girlfriends and watching horror on the laptop but that was just bruh
I remember I was watching the Dahmer series and she got touchy I was like āAyo chill this is getting interestingā
"hey babe chill out i got a story to follow"
Ongod
What type of movies do you usually watch?
reminds me of this one guy who went to the theater to hook up w his gf and ended up just sitting there w her cuz they both got too invested in the film
It you want to watch real cinema, might I recommend Mission Impossible 7: Dead Reckoning: Part 1
Superb film
One of the best of our time
honestly idrk
action and horror
Sadly overlooked
mostly just body horror and slashers
Oh prolly the best vibe? I was at my friends house when I saw godfather, just tearing cigs and drinking whiskey- the bar aroma really set the atmosphere for watching that film
I need watch the Substance
Never thought you of all people would call an action film a goat
Mission Impossible is no action film, itās an audiovisual experience
Idk if you know but Tom Cruise drives a bike off a cliff onto a train
Thatās very important to me
Whatās your favourite F&F movie
Never seen em
The moment I realized I was truly mature was as a kid saw that movie with Stallone, Arnie etc where they were riding a tank in the sky on a parachute and just went āwhat the actual fuckā
Innocence lost
Iām not a Mission Impossible girly for the explosions, Iām in it cos I genuinely think theyāre as close to practical spectacle driven cinema as weāve got rn
Tom Cruise has said Buster Keaton is his big influence
Heās a properly dynamic physical performer
Iāll check it out, I liked mad max for that reason
I think Mission Impossible is quality, and I think Fanny & Alexander is quality
Both can be true
(Now, if Tom Cruise was in Fanny & Alexanderā¦)
Iām sorryā¦. 5hrs?
holy fuck
Tom Cruise will be doing more artistic films again.
That is a lot of bathroom breaksā¦
Oh also ignore Donnie and donāt start with F&A lol
If youāre doing Bergman, start with Seventh Seal or Persona
I never told him. Scroll up
Iām not gonna be some pretentious dork trynna be sigma cinephile lol
Mission Impossible 7: Dead Reckoning: Part 1 is arthouse actually
Idm
uhm actually
What
Thereās a bit with close up magic and Tom Cruise does that fr
yea fuck it imma go through some classical directors and make me opinions
Look up. I told him to watch whatever you want.
Idm
Start with Hitchcock, Scorsese or Kubrick
You unlock Welles and Bergman after youāve seen one of each
Itās like video game levels
š
You get Kurosawa as a pre-order bonus
The tutorial is Michael bae and zack Snyder lmfao
Punkās fav directors
Yesssirrr
The Rock is dope
Lmao
Hard agree
Those movies fuck hard
Right??
I do unironically love Snyder for 300 alone, that has a special place in my heart. Saw it as a kid like a loooong time ago, never felt that much adrenaline
Fallout had me on the edge of my seat
Dead Reckoning was good. I donāt get the hate
Cruise is to action what Spielberg is to fantasy
Imbuing scoffed-at genres with genuine cinematic merit
I remember my parents forced me out the house for a vacation with no internet and all I had were the first three mission impossible CDs that I found in my Dadās car so I watched those for the first time, core memory
Same happened to me except I found jackass

I miss those days tbh, to watch movies you went to the DVD store
Donāt we all
Which country
Iām Mongolian but moved around as a kid
I remember my naive ass buying X Men Origins from a shady stall because he told me he got it early and it was that infamous leaked version
What was that like
Genghis Khan
Better than the original version xdd
No it was that leaked version where the third act was basically a green screen with wires
Amazing
I watched X-Men origins like that as a kid. Watched it on brotherās laptop.
Thing was I knew English and sometimes the movies came with a language dub, and by dub it was literally just people speaking over the English audio
God those sucked
Some of Mission Impossible 8 was filmed in my country so Iām hoping Tom Cruise comes back for a premiere screening. That would be awesome
The best showcase of Penguins true nature. The desperation, the way he completely dropped his act to Sophia, how he desperately tries to talk himself out of a situation to the point spit comes out his mouth. He's a disgusting, two-faced scumbag.
Great year for TV btw
Emmys next year should be a blast, especially with The Last Of Us and White Lotus still to come
Iām looking forward to McQuarrie and Cruiseās next project. Heard his role will be similar to the one from Collateral.
The Bear is still going to win š
I need to watch Sweetpea
Penguin should sweep the Emmys
Ella Purnell is my wife btw
I watched the first episode. Kinda good
If it runs Limited, itāll be up against Disclaimer which really blew me away
Did my boy Alfonso cook?
If it runs Drama, itās up against TLOU and White Lotus
For me, absolutely
Directed arguably the best HP
Itās my favourite project of his since Children Of Men
The way it builds and subverts, genuinely knocked me for six
Itās such a ride
(And stupidly beautiful for TV)
Havenāt watched Disclaimer yet
Speaking of beautiful, I just watched The Peasants in cinemas
Not the best story but so gorgeous
Iām curious about Vince Gilliganās next project which stars Rhea Seehorn.
Havenāt seen it yet, must put it on the list!
Saaaaaame
I loved mark strong's performance but is he supposed to be a younger Carmine?
ye
Its not exactly like the cinematic version
Johns version felt more coniving.
Meh, Iāll let it slide. The character is dead
Cristin Milioti performance in Ep 4 was incredible.
no hes just meant to be falcone in place of John
the first ep showed a pic of mark strong falcone in a news report instead of john's
Yes and no. Mark Strong plays Falcone in the show since John Turturro couldnāt do it. But. those Falcone scenes are 10 years prior to present day, so heās technically the younger version lol
Idk I thought Mark Strongās performance was pretty good and he honestly looks like Johnās Falcone
I wonder what Batmanās doing/thinking though š Like the entire Falcone family just got wiped out
Yea honestly he better get involved
Probably busy running Wayne Enterprises.
Yea and running around crown point
Batman could run Gotham if he wanted to lol
yea i dont get why bruce dosent just monopolize all of gotham to fix the city
i mean i get why but still
would like an elseworld story abt bruce going mad tryna go fix gotham and the rest of the world of crime
Ok head fan story time, a small frankenstein of like
Joker's Thomas Wayne, where the Waynes were not good folk, wealthy aristocratic and disconnected like the Koche brothers, Rothschilds or something
With Bruce being different
Then you have some weird secret society of old white people which they were apart of, The Court of Owls. Give them this like Jordan Peele's "Get Out" or Handmaiden's tale kind of vibe
Which are the original land owners of Gotham harkening back to the American Civil War, Revolution, Salem etc. era
Wouldnāt work nor would it be that easy. The entire city is corrupted.
Itās not like Batman could hire an entire new government in Gotham to get rid of all the bad people.
As with most places like that, its also the fact that the poor people are also part of the problem
Thereās corruption in every sector of Gotham. If the entire city embezzles money, what would happen if you threw money at it
Its not like he can change the minds of the millions of inhabitants
People in the city are generally selfish, bad, or whatever; the wealthy are just the ones that won
would be more helpful than just training the whole day to beat people up at night
btw
i wonder how arkham is layed out
since it seems like the most dangerous prisoners are probably kept nearest to the guards
w the riddler and joker being super close
and their cells are right infront of where the guards sit around and watch the tv at
Are we talking about Reevesverse or in general?
Evil version of Batman have dominated the DC multiverse via prep.
He also knows how to destroy it. Superman wasnāt wrong when he said Batman is one of the most dangerous beings out there.
Superman fr considers bats the most dangerous man on earth
I genuinely dont get how they can wank him to be some near godly being who can wreck the whole planet when he goes over the edge
Yet cant deal w 1 cities corruption
Like mans canonically one of the richest if not the richest person on the planet
And yet he just lets other people manage the company while he spends most of his day training himself to beat up criminals at night
The last two eps have been such a MAJOR improvement over the first two itās insane
Beyond excited to start that soon
Apparently this isnt even sofias best episode
And the show gets even better
Itās not that he canāt deal with their corruption. He could if heās willing to abandon his moral code.
Hell, even the Titans TV series shows this in Nightwingās dream which was manipulated by Trigon. When Batman goes rogue, dude pretty much kills everyone in Arkham.
Like I said earlier, Batman could rule Gotham as a dictator if he wanted to.
Yk what i dont get
Why dont the cops just "accidentally" unload their whole mags into the more dangerous villains after they arrest them
Like ik bats is against murder but youd think some random corrupt cop would just shoot joker in the head while hes cuffed in the backseat after batman is done beating on him
Also, Gothamās criminal activities pretty much reduced significantly when Batman came into the picture. Heās getting the job done despite his āNo killā rule.
Heās still feared by everyone
Fr?
Yea nvm there are probs stories where the crime rate drops
Im just used to batman doing fuck all in the grand scheme of things
The fact he can induce fear without killing someone is pretty unique.
I think its canon that bruce likes having the criminals glaze his legend a bit
Like just scare the shit outta them and then they go tell their friends abt him
People like Falcone induce fear by murdering someone. Batman can do that with his presence alone.
The opening of the Batman is basically that
Yea
I mean thatās part of his shtick. He uses fear as a tool.
Yk i sometimes wonder how tf bruce hasnt accidentally killed someone
Like in the opening of the batman at the train stop he legit punches a guys head against the floor multiple times
Like id be shocked if man wasnt in a coma for a while after that
Thatās what you get when Batman doesnāt hold back his punches
Then Battinson eventually does become more heroic in the end. Thatās the character development.
Dude idk why but the mental image of bruce just randomly jumping some petty thief in crown point rn while the penguin is in the middle of a gang war is hilarious
I will be really surprised if Batman doesnāt do stuff off screen
Im assuming bruce is just too rekt rn to deal w the penguins shit
Mans probably living in crown point atp just camping in some random base running around tryna solve 9 different murders daily
Bruce should remind them whoās the boss of Gotham
I hope hes doing something to effect the gang war rn
Would be hilarious is hes just out of the loop and only learns abt it in part 2
Like man comes back to wayne manor after 2 weeks of no lifing the rising crime rate and tryna save people and just sees that the whole falcone family is dead and penguins running crime
After episode 4, the Penguin has become such an unsympathetic character.
The way he begged for mercy. Heās a snivelling pussy and a despicable creature. I never expected they will go this route.
Who wouldāve thought Sofia would be the victim
||Just a theory, but now I think Oz probably killed his brothers out of jealousy. He will try to do the same with Victor.||
I loved how they made a devito penguin reference by having his spit get all dark and gross when sofia is zoning out
Itās simple, we kill the Penguin.
Colin Farrell said something along the lines that he would be surprised if people still sympathised with Oz after further episodes.
Its one of the reasons I prefer Batman in his own universe
Than a shared one
Also a batman's no kill rule is a little campy, but there are some cool ways to work with it
For me atleast
I vibe alot more with like Rorschach from watchmen, punisher, ghost rider n shit
Snyder's Batman was a giant hit or miss for me in that regard lol, like when he was going around machine gunning gangsters in his spaceship I was like "bruh"
But in the more gritty grounded scenes when he like captured this sex trafficker and kidnapper then branded him
Which lead to him being lynched in prison
And appearently thats something Batman does now
I was like "thats so fucking cool"
I hated the branding bit personally
Like probs just being a bit too much of a fanboy but i hate it whenever batman willingly causes someone to die in his movies
Thats one of my gripes w the keaton and bale batmen
i think keaton's was just a meme classic cause its so old
i dont kill
literally blows him up
arnie's mr freeze lmao
Part 6 of Rorschach's inner monologue.

FILM DESCRIPTION:
Director David Fincher's dark, stylish thrill...
Dont forget the time keaton set one of pinguins henchmen on fire
This kinda vibe would fuck hard with Batman, for me anyway
Penguin
Se7en or Rorshach sorta style and vibe
Guns don't kill people. Badman does.

Pyg, Zsaas, Killer Croc, Solomon Grundy
Eh, ngl grundy seems a bit too low profile to be a main villain in a movie
Yeah but secondary villain could work maybe
Idk maybe have crorc, grundy, clayface or some shit as like a physical secondary B plot
And have another as a psychological/intellectual A plot like riddler, joker, hugo or somethin
Dude yk i just pictured this
The mob hires zsasz to take car of batman while hes in his early days
And the movie is basically just batman coping w how dark shits getting w his war on crime and him trying to stop zsasz who is becomimg more and more extreme whole trying to take him out
Basically the dark knight mixed w se7en
Yeah, and Batman driven insane with his no kill rule
And he manages in the end maybe but is left like depressed and grim
And thats how we got dark edgy batman
What if he has to choose between saving zsasz or someone else
Like zsasz is easier to save but someone else is in danger in a spot thats hard to get to
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Ultimate Cut)
Produced by RatPac-Dune Entertainment, DC Entertainment, Atlas Entertainment, Cruel and Unusual Films
Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures
Directed by Zack Snyder
Starring...
Henry Cavill as Clark Kent / Kal-El / Superman
Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne / Batman
Gal Gadot as Diana Prince / Wond...
I liked some snippets of Snyder's Bat
"It saved us, a devil" i just wet myself
I like snyder bats design(best batsuit) and his moments w alfred
I mean it could work but
The killing and use of guns sucked
I cant see a situation where Batman goes out of his way to save a serial killer without it looking a little dumb š¤
The branding is cringe lol
And then realizes theres a civilian in danger in one of the upper floors
Which is burning and filled w smoke
Does he just leave zsasz to burn to death or go save the civilian
Victor being Zsasz will be crazy
It works for sure.
And now oz betrays his son basically and sends him to arkham to take the fall for his crimes
Yeah, thatās better than killing him off. But I guess they would like to cast a more well known actor to play Zsasz.
idk, id like a film franchise of like b listers and c listers
but you cant have that for blockbusters
Like i dont think they will need some well known guy to play him since hes pretty niche to the general audience
Nvm he showed up in the birds of prey movie
Tho there he was just some fodder henchman
riddler just turning out to be a serial killer woulda been cool but they just had to add a giant cgi explosion action sequence at the end
*serial killer whose actions led to ripple effects in the criminal and political world
Honestly how the fuck did riddler even get the explosives
His flood plan was dumb af
he was also in the gotham show, that one was kinda cool
Did he go buy em w his followers donations or something
Yea he was penguins hitman in it i think
Best Scenes - Victor Zsasz (Gotham TV Series - Season 1)
I hated that show
the actor was good, the plot less so lol
Bro yk damn well there are probably just a few streams of ed driving the vans to where they gotta be
penguin's actor in gotham woulda made a good zsaaz too
the show honestly had a really good cast of actors, but the showrunners were on crack
I ment vics actor in the penguin
Heās smart. Not all that difficult to build those explosives.
the movie didnt really give much of a damn to explosives, batman with his face exposed and alfred with normal clothes wouldnt survive a bomb at point blank lmao
and the size of riddler's explosion, from a van; like what did bro use, military grade warheads?
Ok w batman atleast he raised his arms before the explosive went off
Idk how tf alfred didnt get most of his body burnt
Honestly i wonder how bruce explained him being gone for an hour after alfred got blasted
alfred's explosion in isolation was really cool the way it was edited, batman's suspense when driving and then the reveal the two scene sequences weren't like
happening same time
Cuz like man fr needed to go into the batcave, park his car, take off the batsuit and them go talk w the cops
"something really bad is about to happen"
"it already has"
kino
i kinda gave up on that front already
Nitpicks tho
cape and exposed face doesnt make sense at all
but its gotta be there
for the style š£ļø
I think the exposed face is there to give bruce more breathing room
If the mask was closed off he wouldnt be getting enough air w how much hes moving and jumping
You shocked that Batman survived the blast?
Yk i had that thought when the whole gcpd was inside riddlers apartment
ANd the wall was plastered w bruce wayne and batman pics
haha
And nobody thought "hmmmmm interesting"
"Yk these guys got sorta similar jawlines"
exact height and weight of the city's most famous person, same voice not even a voice modulator like batfleck, literally next to his own poster
"a mystery indead"
Itās hinted that Riddler figured out Batmanās identity.
Nah
It was an editing play
He said Bruce so audience thought he figured it out
So get movie watchers and Batman afraid, then go "oh ok phew"
Yk damn well gordon was by the bat signal pondering what batman ment when he said riddler was gonna expose him
AFter lookin at like 50 different pictures of batman and bruce side by side
I like how in Arkham Knight, Riddler refuses to believe Batman is Bruce Wayne.
I think Carmine figured it out too, they said he never forgets a face when upclose with Bruce
Then his eyes flashed when he was dying in Bats arms
hits the pipe
"I dont think ill ever know batmans true identity"
"Was nice seeing that chill lovable guy bruce wayne at the funeral last week tho"
I mean Gordon knowing might make sense, aside the fact of how obvious it is, he's also known in a few iterations and him being a detective and all that
Makes narrative sense
Do yāall think Oz wouldāve shot Carmine, if it wasnāt for the Riddler?
Heās an impulsive character
Probably not
Idk, either way woulda worked; infront of an army of cops? No way tho
Hes impulsive but he aint impulsive enough to shoot a guy infront of like 40 cops
With Alberto it made sense cause he was in private
Yea same
Plus he mentioned to bruce abt the time he saw him looking down from the stairs
For the audience itās obvious, but thatās not the case inside his universe. Batman is great at hiding his identity unlike other superheroes.
I mean
Idk what ur sayin fam, sry
It sorta gets stupid when you have a wall of pictures of both bruce wayne and batman side by side
And not a single cop goes "hmmm now hear me out"
Yeah thats what I meant as realism, like surviving explosions, staying secret; its stupid in other movies, but you gotta roll with it for super hero genres
Yea
Also i have a theory
Bruce was trying to be more active during like year 1
But had an attempt on his life carried out by the joker
They canāt imagine someone like Bruce Wayne being Batman
Cuz one of the news clippings of bruce wayne has a figure smiling in the background
The dressing as a bat thing is also fucking stupid lmfao, "what is this goofy ahh man doin"
Or like how someone else pointed out, Bruce is better equipped to handle crime than a literal street ninja but
Batmans cool so its ok
Why would the richest man in the world waste his time up as a deranged Bat like vigilante and fight crime?
Ur thinking too deep Donnie
Their perception of Bruce Wayne is a spoilt playboy who doesnāt give a crap about other people
It all started as a graphic novel for kids in the early 1900s, it aint that deep lol
Yea but like
I wasnāt addressing this to you. Itās what the people of Gotham believes.
Isnt reeves verse batman a big ass recluse?
Like people fr make news reports and the guy just being spotted outside of wayne manor and shit
The point is that it wouldnt make sense realistically, like that wouldnt happen, but thats fine
He is, but I assume in the sequel maybe his playboy persona will be a thing for the public
Reeves Bruce was really cool, like what they did with Batman and Bruce at the club
Batman couldnt get in
I think bruce was more social early on as batman but became a recluse after the joked tried killing him in public
But folk were shitting themselves when Bruce showed up
Nah
i just remembered
some people dont even know what bruce looks like
like oz and the guy bruce talked w during the funeral
Lowkey idgaf, none of it makese sense when you try to explain it
Suspension of disbelief and all that
Tbh this scene was very solid. https://youtu.be/-kC4XJSA-cw?si=fzeJZ_rtS5J600x_

just find some bits odd
Yeah its prolly me second fav batman mobie
Behind Nolan's Joker one
though this Batman won out in the style department
Affleck's voice and suit, Ledger's Joker, Nolan's twists and plot with Reeves' style and atmosphere
Something people pointed out was that Reeves Batman took place entirely at night which did wonders setting the tone
Hollup
So the scene of bruce talking w carmine
To him stopping riddlers followers
Took place over the span of 1 night?
Uh, no
Was there sunlight when he talked w selina
But everything just happened to take place during night
Lol
Yeah or the bomb scene at the funeral was also morning or day
We know that the riddlers attack happened on november 5th
I wanna see a Gotham with a buncha spooky ass gargoyles, so Batman can do his iconic silhoutte come to life- its so dumb but so cool
And we saw the sun and daylight like 4 times
November 1st was when bruce came back from the mayors murder scene and was eating the berries while chilling w alfred
Then a day passed after he talked w selina
So the funeral took place on the 2nd? And then we had a scene of him meeting selina while the sun was setting/rising after he escaped the police station
On the 3rd
My fav Gotham is when its set like a few decades back like the original Joker movie, which was in the 80s
I really liked Reeves' Gotham, my favorite iteration but whenever I saw an iPhone i was like "aight imma pretend I didnt see that"
Then alfred got bombed
And then we got another scene in sunlight
So then it was the 4th
I don't remember too many "1 night/day" movies but they happened alot in the 2000s era of cinema if I recall
I wonder how burtons gotham design would mesh w reeves gotham
Like Training Day did it super well
Ye
Have you seen Del Torro's hellboy?
Yea
He has this really unique almost-persian kinda mythical style to his sets
Would really like to see it onscreen for Gotham
His designs could work for the more wacky villains
Poorer places are like industrialized and dirty with steampipes n homeless favelas, wealthier places have this Gothic cathedral kinda make up
So apparently bruce talked w carmine, talked w alfred
Talked w selina
Carmine got assassinated
And the riddler flooded the city
In the span of 1 single day
How the fuck
I found the batman timeline chart
bruh
november timeline
yea same
aint no way alfred got bombed
and woke up the very next day
also how fuckin long are the nights in gotham
lets say it went dark at 6 pm
bruce would have to go talk w carmine
go to the hospital and talk w alfred
infiltrate the iceberg lounge
arrest carmine
get into riddlers apartment, go to arkham
go back to riddlers apartment
then go rush to gotham square garden
and fight off those guys
wait nvm he has enough time
when did the real get elected as mayor?
at midnight
so bruce would have like 6 hours from 6 pm to midnight to do all this shit
all i manage to achieve in one night is making a sandwhich and finishing like 2 missions in a video game
oh also
not to mention all the off screen shit he had to do
like getting the bat suit to go meet w selina
cuz yk damn well man aint leaving that shit unguarded in some fancy car in the middle of gotham while he goes to talk w carmine and alfred
Burtonās Gotham was amazing
so true bestie
btw off topic but i hope we never see arkham from the outside
i love the fact we only see the inside whenever we cut to it, no establishing shots or anything
just hell on earth, another dimension where gothams lunatics are sent
In general. Most of the live-action Batman films are reflections of Year One and The Long Halloween
The Gotham in Batman Begins pretty good too, probably my favorite.
Christian Bale was at his best as Batman in the first film. Shame Nolan wanted him to overdo that voice.
ill never get that voice
could bale not do a slightly deeper voice compared to his normal voice?
The issue with the voice started in TDK
did he have to sound like he was gurgling on 10 cigars a day
He already did in Batman Begins. It wasnāt an issue.
ik but later on
what happened
did he say a line w a sore throat and nolan thought "hollup, let him cook"
I remember reading about them doing some sort of sound mixing in TDK and TDKR to protect his vocal chords so he wasn't going all out like he was on Begins
I was always a fan of Batfleck's voice. I felt the microchip voice modulator was more intimidating and stayed true to the character since Batman's tech savvy and all.
I was a teenager when that teaser dropped for BvS
āTell me do you bleedā
That shit went to hard
IGN is garbage
someone revoke ign opinions.
also holy shit the new episode is so good
bros probably just tryna get clout to fuel his crack smoking habit
They didnt want to pay ign so they saying the series is mid while its far better than lotr new season which they gave 8
Off topic, but Frank Millerās Batman was a proper psycho lol.
I dont get how frank could write the definitive early and end of career batman stories
And then make shit like all star batman and robin
Tbh Millerās Batman is different from mainstream New Earth/Prime Earth version.
Heās also a killer and doesnāt mind using guns. Miller just went overboard in All Star, where even JL members are out of character.
Which i dont get since in the dark knight returns man had a whole quote calling guns the weapon of cowards
IIRC he uses a sniper in Strikes Again
Strikes again is a disaster
Man drives his car into lex luthors building through god knows how many people and then just leaves after carving a z into lexs face
Honestly all star makes strikes again look even worse in retrospect
When u realize dick grayson got abused by a psycho and became a joker clown monster
Yk the whiplash miller batman has between all star and the last crusade is insane
Frank Millerās Batman is basically Batman where the Zur-En-Arrh personality took over.
Man goes from setting people on fire and shit to freaking out over jason being brutal
Idk what to think abt miller batman
I love year one and tdkr but the others just crap
Yeah he doesnāt have self control
Mainstream Batman controls his darker tendencies with his no kill rule. Which is why he doesnāt even kill criminals as evil as the Joker.
Batman Ego explored the idea of Bruce Wayneās true Batman self(itās implied this figure is Barbatos).
Man, what an episode
Cristin Miloti popped off simply
What a terrific performance
It's a tragedy how her character was pushed off the deep end. So much so, ||in the present time, she doesnt even flinch killing a teen||
Next episode is going to be crazy
I imagine she offed quite a few people in the can
But yeah it was one of the better "fall to madness" sequences
TDK's Harvey Dent switch was a little obnoxious and fast
Hangman's was really well done
Oh yeah, she was in there for 10 years, I am not going to be surprised that she has had a few kills racked up haha
It was also a nice deep dive into the workings of Arkham Hospital, all the crazy that goes down there
How? Harvey Dent always had a dark side in him even in the TDK iteration. https://youtu.be/E_hQLAcumQw?si=QIuVNZSDoF8r3XYY

If you read the novelisation of TDK, Dent grew up in an abusive household just like the comic book. The abuse inflicted by his alcoholic father to his mom, where later the father hung his mom and then committed suicide. This severely affected his psyche.
Idk why youre bringing the novelisation into this lol
It was about the movie in isolation, like GoT is better when you know the books but thats not to say it adds to the show itself
Even if you ignore the novelisation, it wasnāt fast.
It was
Harvey Dent clearly had a dark side, so not it wasnāt.
Im not saying it was bad, but it wasnt remarkable like se7en
Or Sofia's in the penguin
Why the hell are you comparing Se7en?
And it was well done in TDK. Harvey Dentās transformation to Two-Face wasnāt sudden. He already had a damaged psyche.
We see this in the interrogation scene
It was ok, it wasn't horrendous like some other movies
Like Anakin's fall to Darth I think was a classic case of too much too fast
It wasnāt
You dont go from edgy kid to mercing kids in an hour lmao
Idk what to tell you Donnie, just cause you're a fan of somethings doesn't mean you can't criticize it
Or defend everything as perfect
Like alot of my fav movies have dumb shit in it, but that doesnt matter
Anakin was literally known for succumbing to anger. Him killing kids was basically his transformation to the evil Sith Lord.
Idc about star wars, its just a common example that people bring up
He has briefly used dark side before prior his transformation even in the movies. Notable example is AOTC
Like the actor needs to be given more subtle scripting and emotives prior to the switch
Like some other movies do it better than others where they establish alot of like Chekov's gun sorta thing in the dialogue, where its constantly an undertone
Like whom? Redditors. The prequels had its problems, but Anakinās transformation to Vader wasnāt sudden.
Im not in the mood to argue so well agree to disagree
Its generally not a very organic transition when the actor plays a different character within a few minutes
Like Anakin's Vader facial expressions and dialogue were very different to one another
Whereas with Sofia, she's very obviously the same person before and after Arkham
He doesnāt play a different character out of nowhere. Anakin has already shown his dark side before. https://youtu.be/qoXlO09I4fo?si=A56S8ZEQmMQ3qGxN
Anakin Finds His Mother - Shmi Skywalker's Death Scene | Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002) Movie Clip 4K Ultra HD
Cast: Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Natalie Portman, Ian McDiarmid, Samuel L. Jackson, Christopher Lee, Temuera Morrison, Frank Oz, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, Daniel Logan, Silas Carson, Ahmed Best, Pernill...
Yeah but like this and the Harvey interrogation
Weāve seen many instances where Anakin is impatient and angry
Its more like the director did homework
Its just a scene or two to add context so that the fall doesnt come off out of left field
Whereas better transitions would be like if we saw Anakin or Harvey as subtley unhinged or stressed in every scene they were in
Those scenes pretty much tell us that it wasnāt a quick transformation out of nowhere.
Like Sofia wasn't a murderer in the first few minutes
But you could see the similar expressions and decisions when she did kill her inmate
Harvey clearly was losing it and so did Anakin from the start of ROTS
Yeah my point being that if you're relying on scene addition alone
It doesnt constitute a good transition
Its better script wise when its constant, in hindsight
Story wise yeah but screenplay
I think youāre being too fastidious.
Idek what the fuck that means so prolly not lmao
Youre arguing bout lore n shit
Im just out here talking bout it as a movie
Like this
And this?
Yeah like early Sofia with young falcone and Sofia that killed magpie, were very obviously the same person
Whilst Anakin flirting with Padme and Anakin mercing the kids with the yellow eyes were very different characters that the actor had to play
Nah the Sofia who killed Magpie already descended to madness
It wasnāt the same person
Uh
Im she did
But it works better as a fall to madness when you can see theyre the same person
Before and after the fall
The Sofia thing is just by nature going to be better than Harvey or Anakin cause it was an entire hour of exploring and adding nuance
Whilst the other two had to fit in inside another movie
Where the director could only use a couple scenes
It was executed way better than Harvey and Anakin, imma die on that hill
Its just more organic n shit
I think the best transitional character was Walter White, by the same token of like
They had more time to build it up
With Walter you had literal hours on end with multiple seasons to explore, Sofia had an entire hour, Harvey just exploded and woke up evil lmao
That makes it more impressive, except Anakin had two movies to show that. Harvey Dent was only in TDK and Nolan was able to perfectly convey the āYou either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villainā message.
There are subtle hints that Harvey wasnāt right in his head.
The best example of fall to darkness is in the Godfather 1.
Where its dependent on a day or moment
I get what you mean with Michael but, I'd have to disagree, it's an all time classic for the fallen arc
Cause it was one of the very first we ever had
Its like the Seinfield effect, it was great for its time but as cinema evolves it adopts and adds onto to it
Michael Corleone going from an Ivy League educated war hero to a stone hearted killer is one of the best fallen arc in fiction.
Where subsequent movies learn from their predecessors n shit
No subsequent movies have done it better than the Godfather.
The ending of the first godfather with the murder sequence when he's giving a baptimising for example is like, I think one of the first juxtapositions we had in theatre
Where a character is saying something good but something bad is happening
i wish we got more scenes of bruce and harvey together
I think TDK was perfect as it was
If they added more scenes to make it extended it might detract from the thriller suspense
It was enough
imagine if bruce had a convo w harvey after he claimed he was batman
and we got some backstory on harvey and his relationship w his father
and then the chase happens
imma be real, i didnt really give a shit about harvey until he got bbq'd lmao
god it was so long ago, but i was like an actual kid if i recall when i first saw the movie
It wouldāve made the film a lot longer.
so when he turned his face and we saw half his face gone with the eyeball sticking out
it actually scared me
Thereās a reason these details are in the novel.
10/10
i dont think harvey himself was that important
it was more that he was the mascot for change in gotham
like his public image
ik but still
harvey and bruces relationship is what i love most abt him becoming two face
Harvey was as important as Batman and Joker in the story.
ur fancast with homelander as dent would go hard
if they could shoehorn the dead behind the eyes vibe
Antony Starr said heās done with superhero stuff
Donnie staaaahp with this kneejerk defense of source purism donnieee noooo
What source purism?
Iām talking about the movie
i think hed be willing to do harvey tho
Who knows. Too old
hugh jackman and rdj were done too until they got em fat stacks
get that bag
i honestly got a newfound respect for disney when they got rdj back, the absolute shamelessness of it all lmao
absolute fucking savages
i mean harvey can just walk around a court room talking shit or threatening people, not really big of a physical role compared to other superhero stuff, plus they could just add some make up to make him look younger
Theyāre playing it pretty safe after their recent blunders.
Matt Reeves probably like to cast someone close to Pattinsonās age. If theyāre going for an older actor, I donāt think Starr would be even the first choice.
Especially after that recent controversy, I wouldnāt be surprised if he gets cancelled.
Heās a great actor though.
The Diddler
i mean they could just cast him and give him some make up to make him look younger
and play it off as him being like bruces older brother type
i want an batman man
The one where he glassed some dude and apparently mistreated Dominique McElligott in the set.
like they were close as kids and then lost touch after the waynes died
Imagine if Reeves does something like this lol. Harvey Dent, the long lost brother.
i dont mean actual older brother
Yeah I know
o btw
Hope Reeves doesnāt go too crazy
i think they might have clay face act as amadeus arkham
since they are using elements from batman earth one
and in that clayface is a criminal for hire for impersonates other people
I hope they drop that shit
Reeves said he the Batman will have some elements from Ego, yet it wasnāt there. Hope the sequel covers it.
ayo lowkey? a guy that uses clay prosthetics to impersonate people
like some kgb spy and feds found traces of his masks
and gave him the moniker clayface
he has a skin condition in the comics that makes him look clayish
like the guys skin is just stacking and he apparently has like 3 different sets of finger prints
idk i wouldnt wanna see accurate clayface morphing and shit
and is a literal glob of clay
thatd be dumb
nah dw hes not rlly like that
i think this version could sorta fit the reeves verse
Zsasz really have an interesting origin story. Would fit right in Reevesverse.
The Penguin had a role in Zsasz becoming a psychopathic serial killer.
hmmmmm
so victor gambles w penguin and gets his life ruined
and loses hope
ig being framed for murder and being sent to arkhams abt to ruin our boi
The interesting thing is that Zsasz didnāt have a fucked up life like your typical killer. Born to loving and wealthy parents, popular student with top grades, ran a successful billion dollar company etc
btw
victor in the comics lost his family to a boating accident
and in the show victors parents die in a flood
Yes
Instead of that, maybe Penguin will kill his girlfriend and just straight up leave him to die.
Donāt want them to repeat that Sofia story
There is no doubt Penguin will do something very repulsive and evil like Ruby said in an earlier discussion. Apparently he will be irredeemable.
i mean it would be a nice repeat of the cycle
like penguin is now the new carmine falcone and basically condemns his surogate son to the same fate as sofia
Shouldāve just crashed that car and hit the Penguinš. Biggest mistake he did going back.
bruh i can just imagines the maronis standing there bamboozled
and then it cuts to vic realizing what he did and just going
"FUCK"
i think vic dosent mind that much since oz openly talked abt just using sofia and that hell kill her eventually
No heāll start realising Oz isnāt someone who you can trust fully.
Heās smart
Will figure out heās working with a snake.
I think he already does
Like it was kinda explicity Vic already knew what Oz was, but made the call anyway
Like he knew what the gangster life entails, but made the call cause he knows the civillian life isn't what he wants
In the Inside the Ep by HBO, the actor didn't say he chose to go back cause he trusted Oz now
But rather understood he now has a choice
Risk everything working with a snake in a world of criminals where everyone is out to get you, cant trust anyone but be a street legend, adrenaline and wealth or live the cozy life with his gf as a normal person forever
Yeah gambling is a term you can use, albeit naively
yk who else gambled w the penguin?
thats right
victor zsasz
Its a theme with alot of gangster movies, something I can sympathize with; a slow life with a loving family and stability is a fate worse than death lol
Idk alot of the plot points was laid out, since the first ep I kinda put together that:
- Sofia got framed as Hangman- They said she went after women specifically but in the movie we knew Carmine had a habit of strangling women, and he also tried to strangle his own daughter (catwoman); so it was consistent if Carmine framed Sofia to take his fall
- Victor gets killed or screwed over by Oz; we saw him constantly screwing over people he did genuinely like, also its a theme with him to use others as his scapegoat, the bodyguard, maroni, the teenager, sofia etc.
- Oz's mom dies- idk why but i feel like at the end this is the price he pays for the crown
1 down, 2 more to go
