I very much am a person who separates art from artists when it comes to controversy and I also keep in mind that a lot more people put months if not years of their lives into the making of these films and it’s not just spacey. I don’t want to discard all the good work of decent people simply cause they didn’t know they were working with a terrible person. Just stay away from anything new spacey tries unless by some absolute 1 in a million chance occurrence definitive proof that all of the accusations are false which is stupidly unlikely

there's a couple of spacey films that i feel guilty about liking or watching. i'm more partial to se7en than 21 tho. just because he's a bad person doesn't make the movies bad. it does hamper immersion tho every time he's on screen and you can see how smug he is about himself.

I'm all for separating performer from role but I can understand why it'd be difficult to watch some roles that have a reasonable amount of similarity to the things that he did IRL. House of Cards immediately comes to mind and the way he looks into the camera, it's a pretty intense role.

House of Cards is arguably more harder to enjoy than American Beauty on this topic cuz at least with the latter, Spacey didn't write the story and all. HoC on the other hand, Spacey's brother and few other producers stated Spacey was just acting as himself in that series
