ABCD is the pre image before a transformation and A’B’C’D’ is the after

In order to measure the dilation, you have to measure one side of both equations and divide them by [SIDE]'/[SIDE], get it?
So if A' was 10, for example, and A was 5...
10/5 is 2, so the scale factor is 2
It's essentially how much you have to multiply ABCD by to get to the same size as A'B'C'D'

So for A the coordinates are (3,3) and A’(-3,1) so is the scale factor -1/3?
Sooo close! The x-values dont matter when it comes to dialations, only the y. Count out how many units the sides are, then divide by A' Side Length/A Side Length.
So 1/3?
