At which step are you lost?
It was -4x+12
So the -4 can be factored
But not that I mean
As for the x^2-4, you can see that there are two parts of the expression, x^2(x-3) and -4(x-3)
x-3 is a common factor so that can be factored out as well
We can change -4x+12 to 2(-2x+ 6)
