Hey all! I'm a second year university student looking for feedback on a project (presentation) I must do for my finals.
It has to be linked with the theme: "Transition, transformation, conversion" (theme of this year). I really want to do something on knot theory, which I know the basic fundamentals (invariants, polynomes, etc.) of, but I'm looking to possibly link the "tough" mathematical stuff with the theme. My main idea is to present knot theory and then implement it (using Python) in a possible domain. The difficulty in the project really shouldn't be pushed (I don't want to find the "limits" of knot theory or prove anything new). Indeed the final grade doesn't depend on the complexity of the work, but the logical steps to it.
Here are my ideas, could some work?
- A way to represent a infinetley big/complex intersection of roads
- Representation of DNA
Also, a question:
- Being a 2nd year uni student, do you think it's a good idea I "push" with higher topology math, which I'd have to learn on my own? Many more complex stuff in knot theory interest my but I'm scared it'll penalize my grade if I cannot explain it well.
