If you take $AC=CE=D$, then the radii $AB=AF =AH=2D+1$

But, $AH=AG+GH = \sqrt{D^2+3^2}+X$

And, $AF=\sqrt{(2D)^2+3^2}$ using Pyth in $\Delta AEF$

Solve $AF=AB$ to get $D$, and you can then solve for $X$
