The question; A trapezoid ( a quadrilateral which has two parallel sides) has two diagonals which measure 3 l.u. and 4 l.u (length units) and which form a right angle (are perpendicular to one another) The sum of the two parallel sides are then;
A, 10 l.u B 5 l.u. C other value (than A or B) D, Can't be concluded
This question is taken from the Swedish Math and Physics aptitude exam, "Matematik och fysikprovet". The answer is apparently Alt. B, but why is this the case?
the trapezoid will be a rhombus. It is mentioned in question that diagonals are perpendicular and the sides are parallel.
