-2001^-1002 - 2001^-1002 is -2 • 2001^-1002? When i factor it become -2001^-1002 • 2 but in book it says to factor negative but there no negative in common. Anyone help me with this

whenever you have 2 of the same thing, it can facting into a 2 times something

for example, if i have 6 + 6, i get 2 * 6

the two expressions you have up there for the factorization, -2 • 2001^-1002 and -2001^-1002 • 2, are equivalent since multiplication is commutative
