The lowest I've figured out is 8. Use 4 prisms to make a perimeter, and 4 rotated around the hole to make the hole.

They can't overlap, and you can't cut the hole.

Use 7 prisms:

4 vertical prisms for the pillars.
2 horizontal prisms for the outer frame.
1 prism for the hole frame.
