Do you have a function for the bird's position (height in function of horizontal position)?
Practical domain is the subset of the domain that is usefull to look at in the context of a problem. For instance, when the domain is a time, it's not very usefull to look at negative values for the time. The practical rsnge is the subset of the range which makes sence in the context of the problem. For instance, that bird can't fall lower than height zero. So negative heights can be ignored.
