In the example you gave the set is finite so you can easily list out the elements.
How are you supposed to list out all the points of a circle?

$A = {(x,y) \in \mathbb{R}^2 \mid x+y-2=0 \text{ and } x^2+y^2 = 2}$
This set has only 1 element which you can find by finding the intersection of the two curves
