Can someone explain how does it works? I cant understand how does it work that i can change "x = 1 + 8k v x = 5 + 8k" to "x = 1 + 4k"

I mean i cant imagine 1 + 4k on the graph

for me its just doesnt work hah

1 + 8k or 5 + 8k let's do some numbers

1 + 8k = {..., 1, 9, 17, ...}
5 + 8k = {..., 5, 13, 21, ...}

so 1, 5, 9, 13, 17, 21 is the same as 1 + 4k

1 = 1 + 4 * 0
5 = 1 + 4 * 1
9 = 1 + 4 + 2

etc

but when i am changing 1 +8k and 5 +8k, how should i think bout it?

I mean when i am doing an exercise how should i do it

my approach was to write some numbers and find a common pattern
