For (a), your discriminant will be positive
since this graph has a minimum value, a is negative but since its y-intercept is positive, c is positive
b² is always positive so b²-4ac is also positive
the negative value in a cancels out the negative sign before 4ac
Oh and for (b), it doesnt matter whether b is positive or negative
since b² is always positive
And since the graph clearly cuts the x-axis at two distinct points, both roots of this equation are real
hence d must be positive
