let the perfect square be (u + x)^2
expand it out, then compare the coefficeitn of 2u
or just by guesing, the answer is 1
I'm so confused rn
I'm confused abt everything like the whole question itself
perfect square quadractic means something this (a+b)^2
while non perfect square are like this (x+a)x+b)
so u have the form (u+a)^2
so if u expand it out it will give u^2 + 2ua + a^2
How did you go from a+b to u+a
just notations
in tgat question
its written u
its just variables dont worry
now 2u(1) = 2u
in that question its u^2 + 2u + box
so put 1 instead of a
Is it because 1 is a perfect square
no
its because 2 * u *1 = 2u
if u put any number other than 1, like 2 *u(2) it will give 4u, which is not in the question
choose a number which will give out 2u
Ohh so 1 would be the only option
yes
Okay thanks! Would help me with another question
yes np
it should meet
LHS = RHS
the last number whoch
16 = 16.1 when x = 4.25
is the answer
so x is 4.25?
round it to nearest 10th
yes
Okay thank you
