for some reason i get my negatives mixed up when doing algebra when doing stuff like -86+ -36 does anyone have a good way to memorize it

if the number of negatives is odd then it's going to be negative, if it's even then it's going to be positive

so when u have +-36, u have an odd number of negatives, meaning that it's going to be -36

oh hold on i ment like -36-42

when u subtract a negative with a negative it's like normal addition, but have to put a negative sign up front

so that's the same as 36+42 but u have to put a negative sign up front
