I know how she got the 3 +- sqrt(105)/2 but I do not understand why they did x>= 3 +sqrt(105)/2 and -24 <= x <= 3 - sqrt(105)/2 for case 1

and for case 2 why they only did

3 - sqrt(105)/2 < x < 3 + sqrt(105)/2
