I translated this as "i will not buy the pants, or I will buy the shirt"

The books answer was "I wont buy the pants without the shirt"

Upon making a truth table it is indeed true that "I wont buy the pants without the shirt"

But my answer is true as well.

Is the reason my answer is not given by the book is because it has less meaning than the books answer?

They seem to have converted the logical statement before writing the English statement
