Am I overthinking this ... plug in some x-values and get some points ... mark them on a plot
For example, if I have: y = 3 x - 1, I could take an x-value like 10 and plug it in to get y: 3 (10) - 1 = 29. This gives me the point {10, 29}. I do some more like this, mark some points on a graph. Sketch the figure through the points.

Yea! One way is to take points near x=6
