So the image shows the figure, and heres the information about what the difference values are and what my task is to solve.

The figure shows an equilateral and isosceles triangle, ABC and CFG. it is stated that the area of triangle ABC is 12, that the height from C on side AB is 3 and that GC = 15. The figure is not dimensional.

a) determine the sides of triangles ABC and CFG, and show that the area of triangle CFG is 108

So far i've done this:

Find AB:
Since ABC is an equilateral triangle, where the height divides it into two parts where, if we find AB, it would equal to finding the other side aswell.

To find AB, we can use the formula of a triangle which is 1/2 * base * height.

We know that the area of the triangle is ABC, and height is 3, so with these informations we can find AB.

12 = 1/2 * AB * 3

12 = 3 * 1/2 x

12 = 3x/2

x = 8,

So AB is 8.

So since ABC is an equilateral triangle means all the sides are equal so therefore

BC = AC = AB.

I'm not sure how to find the sides of the CFG triangle neither how to show how the areal is 108

Well.. if AB = 8 that means half of it is 4 so if we use pythagor theory 3.3 + 4.4 = 25 and root of 25 = 5 needs to be the value of CB but you said that this is a triangle equilateral so all the sides need to be equal

#

Is the information you gave all correct ?
