no idea what K is but it defines H in the previous sentence (no idea what M is then though)

Anyways H^K would be the set of functions from K to H

[0,1] is the closed interval of real numbers from 0 to 1

Arrow signifies that elements in H^K are "mapped" to elements in [0,1]

I. E. H^K is domain and [0,1] is codomain

And g_phi is the name of this mapping/function

The colon just kind of acts like as a definition symbol

So for example in normal English I could say "Math": the study of some things that are not pizza
