Hi, can someone help me understand the second last line of this equation? I understadn unto the point where they root both the sides and then replace 1/32 with 1/2^5. but am bare confused with how did they conclude a= 1/2?

I'm not sure of the larger context, but I think they're just saying that a=1/2 and r=1/2 is one possibility. It's impossible to solve a single equation with two variables.

There must be some larger question surrounding this because otherwise the word "roots" here is very odd.
