So all the small rectangles are equal right?
ursj
yeah
there are 13 copies of them to make a bigger version of the rectangle
Okay so
We already know the long side of the small rectangles is 30mm
You can know the length of the big rectangle from that (30*4)
yep
And then he other side of the big rectangle is 30 + 2x (x is the other side of the small rectangle)
but how can we work out x?
We know the big rectangle area is equal to the area of 13 small ones
So 13 * 30 * x = 30 * 4* (30+2x)
We alright till here or no?
150x = 3600?
yaaay
Then devide both sides by 150
2.4
9
we doing ratios now
Nice
: means divided by?
this one is the hardest question
the teacher set it for us and whoever can solve it gets
prize
its grade 10 level
Well
I don’t wanna make you cheat haha
But if you know how percentage works and can solve a simple equation with a variable x like we did above, then you can solve this, I believe in you 🙂
