i understand the max and min values of the trig functions sin and cos

#

however, i have two problems when answering them:

#

for part B, why are we using Rsin(x+alpha) when we can just deduce that the maximum value of temperature inside the room is when the input of cosine is 1

#

since cos will be more than sin

#

and my second problem is, when using the formula, we are assuming x+alpha = the inside function of the part b model

#

why do we involve R

#

and when we do involve x+alpha, why do we plus alpha and not minus it

#

how would they go from the first line to the second

#

if the equations are equivalent

#

oh nvm
