idk rusty math tells me it should be same value sotrue

maybe since the original ration (1:4) is the full amount of the glass then we have 1/4

then it says he drinks 1/4 of it
so the original value is considered a 100% and now we have only 75% remaining of it

so to get this value we multiply the original value by the new percentage we have
such that (1/4) * 75% or since 75% equals 3/4 then we can say
(1/4) * (3/4) which gives 3/16

You‘re drinking the same amount of both of them, so it (the ratio) should be the same in the end. It doesnt matter if you have V= 1 or V= 1000000 if its 1:4 and both juices have been drank in the same amount, the ratio should be the same.

You can think of it using variables. $x$ can be the quantity of orange juice and $4x$ can be the quantity of lemonade. That means the capacity of the glass is $x+4x \to 5x$. Ben drinks $\frac{1}{4}$ of this liquid, but because the liquid is mixed, the ratio stays the same. There is now $x\cdot{\frac{3}{4}}\to\frac{3}{4}x$ orange juice remaining and $4x\cdot{\frac{3}{4}}\to{3x}$ lemonade remaining, which adds up to $3\frac{3}{4}x$ total liquid remaining. Ben then fills the glass, with orange juice, back up to full capacity, which is 5x. This means he adds $1\frac{1}{4}x$ orange juice to the glass. The total orange juice now in the glass is $\frac{3}{4}+1\frac{1}{4}\to{2x}$. There is still $3x$ lemonade left in the glass, so the ratio of orange juice to lemonade is $2:3$.
