In a practice sheet I need to solve the term
2x = ln(x-1) * (x-1)

I've thought of using the Lambert W-function but am not too fond of that since I am still just a student. Any help?

that makes sense, just try breaking apart the exponent

Maybe you should try to derivate the expression after divide by X - 1 so you get an implication. Sorry if I didn't understand your question
