i don't have wolfram pro but i know a way to solve this
more like approximate the solution then prove it is unique
solution:
approximate using newton's method
prove f(n) = 1 + 2^n - 3^(n-1) approaches 1 from above when n -> -infinity
then show f(n) decreases monotonically after n = 3 (the solution)
ill say there is no elementary way to solve this (using addition, multiplication, logarithms, sine, etc)
How'd you do it?
