For the dilated square, its perimeter is 80 and it's area 400

Want help understanding why?

Bc it's a square

Each side on the first square is 20
And the scale factor is 1/4
So you multiply 20 by 1/4 to get each side length
So you end up with a 5x5 square, which has a perimiter of 20 and an area of 25

So the perimeter formula is 4side=420=80 and the area will be sideside=2020=400

The second square's the dilated one

How Can it be dilated if it's smaller ?

#

But I agree with your awnser for the small one

The scale factor's less than 1

I haven't seen it like that sorry

For example, if it's 2, each side's twice as big
If it's 1/2, each side's half as big
