#How do I answer question 2b (Matrices)

The one in red is the answer key but I don't understand

  1. the and part as there is an A^2 I that will appear after multiplying in but I don't know how they remove it in the next step

as well as I dont understand
2. part b and how they can do (I-A)^-1 both sides

  1. A^2 * I can also be written as A^2, similar to how n*1 can be written as n (I is like 1 but for matrices)
  2. I don’t see why it can’t be done. As long as it is not the zero matrice (all entries are 0s) you can multiply both side with any matrice you want.
