that i totally get, thank you so much for your help , but what im struggling to understand is what i did wrong. my solution of linear equation shows that i got it right even thought my point of intersection is wrong 😦

The second equation is wrong. In the beginning, we have $$9+2t=-5+2r$$ That means, that the correct equation for your software or calculator is $$2x-2y=-14$$
