The complex number e^i, is a shorthand for the exponential function e^(ix). In simple terms it's a way of expressing a complex number, which is a number that can be represented by a real part and an imaginary part. The e^(i•x) is used in areas like trigonometry, calculus and signal processing
In physics we always just use E as a 10
For example you got 6.022E23
That's just 6.022•10^23
So just imagine it as a 10 square root with the digits behind it
All our teachers use it too
Let's say you got 9830E40
It would be 9830•10^40
It's used for very high numbers, I was confused about it too

Scientific notation is not part of my question, I guess I shouldn't have brought it up. My point is that I'm guessing 1Ð120° := 1 ⋅ e^(iτ/3), and my question is whether anyone has seen Ð used like that before.
