Take the derivative y' of the function y and set it equal to 0 (since you want to find the highest point, i. e. a maximum). Then solve for x. Lastly, plug that x back into the first function and evaluate y.
(b)
You are given a sin function, therefore, it has a period (with a length specified in the equation of the function). Find the length of that period.
Since you know the x values for the positions of the maximums from (a), you can also just take the difference between those maximums.
