The horizontal velocity caused by the initial acceleration of the marble doesn't influence the marbles vertical velocity. Therefore, your initial vertical Velocity will be 0 and the overall velocity v = 0 + 1/2 * 9.81 m/s^2. Plug this and the initial height of the marble as 0.91 m into an equation and you will get h(t) = 0.91 m - 1/2*9.18 m/s. Than just set it equal to 0 and solve it and you will get the time t1 required for the marble to reach the floor

for b) Then use this time t and the information that the marble landed 3.21 m of horizontal distance away from the table and solve for v : v = 3.21m / t1
