It ranged from (Lowest) 0-8 (Highest)
Now here's my question: We were asked to display this information, on a graph.
We were also asked to calculate the range and average.
These are the values. To explain this, 4 people do 0 number of activities after school.
10 people do 1 extracurricular activities after school.
By examining the chart, you can see that 6 and 7 do not appear. Indicating that no one does 6 or 7 activities after school.
So here's my question 'If I were to create a bar graph, would I include the 6 and 7 or exclude them.
Would I include them like this
Or would I remove them from the graph?
My second question is 'If I were to include 6 and 7 extra curricular activities after school. Would this mean the range would be equivalent to 10, as Most Frequent (10) - Most lowest (0)
This isn't really hard. My brain is just malfunctioning and not thinking if I include it or not.
Anyone?
This is a very simple question, it is just my thinking issue
<@&286206848099549185>
Hello!
There's no law defining how any graph should best show its info
But I personally think keeping the empty bars is pretty clear
Yes, but if I were to exclude them. It would change the information significantly
For example If I excluded them the range would be 9
As the second lowest option was 1
and the highest was 10
The largest response is 8, no?
This is the part of the dataset that confuses me aswell.
The largest reponse you could choose is8
is 8
Which means that the largest amount of extracurricular activities that someone does after school is 8
But in the form it was conducted of many students
For example, 10 people does 1 extra curricular activitie after school
and in this case, 1 person does 8 extra curricular activities after school
Regardless, the way you choose to represent your info cannot change the info you have. You might choose to not show the empty bars, but you still have 0 people who responded "6"
I understand now, but alot of people are getting confused on the way I structured the graph.
Like the most amount of activities you can do after school is 8, on the form.
The people who participated in the survey, for example: 10 people chose 1 activity after school
I need a more proper way of wording it
For example, if I didn't include How many people do the amount of activities or Amount of activities no one would understand it
Never mind, I understand now. Thanks for your help.

What's the Z-score of a 374ml bottle?
@timid silo Has your question been resolved?
So first step would be know how z-score is defined.
Once you do that you need calculate the probability the bottle would be in the required bounds

Prove that root3+root2 is irrational
<@&286206848099549185>
each of them or the sum?
Sum
I know we first need to use root3+root2=p/q
After that i am confused
Like (root3+root2)^2=(p/q)^2?
Yes
separate the roots on different sides. square. then transform the remaining to something like root3 = ....
the right side wll be rational, which givs you a contradiction.
I get (5×2×root6)=p^2/q^2
Is it correct?
no, i said separate the roots on different sides. if you do this you wont have a root6.
What does separating the roots mean?
root2 = p/q - root3
I get it know
I solved it till 2=p^2/q^2+3-2×p/q×root3
Is it correct?
looks good. now put all on one side without the root3. this should look like root3 = .....
I will try to do that
I think there is one more way to solve can i show you?
Sorry, I am not able to solve it after that can you solve the next equation for me?
<@&286206848099549185>
Ok, so i have done it little differently can you check?

how do I do this
well just make the f'(x) = g(x)
Unless F and f is different that should be it
then you should just re arrange and solve
wait
yea but how did u know to do that
Either find f(g(x)) and then differentiate, or differentiate them separately and use chain rule
yeh
yea and how do i do that
what
f(g(x)) = f(x^2-1) = sqrt(3(x^2-1)+4).. now differentiate
Or use f'(g(x))g'(x)
you're givein f'(x) not f(x)
yea
apply chain rule directly
true
how
im blind
to f(g(x))
I didn't notice it was f'(x)
Integrate first
bro...
the chain rule literally tells you the derivative of
f(g(x))
in general
wat
its a chain rule question
if you have to find f(x) from f'(x) don't we have to use integration?
oh lol
idk chain rule
F'(x) = f'(g(x)) * g'(x)
chain rule will literally tell you
$$[f(g(x)]'$$
F' = f'(g)g'
ℝαμΩℕωⅤ
now plug g(x) into the f'(x) you're given
and you shouldn't have much difficulty finding g'(x)
$[f(g(x))]' = f'(g(x))g'(x)$
ZapMighty
okay
oh yuea ur rigth
thank u

How did this become this
write $\frac1{x^4}=\frac{x}{x^5}$ and then add the two fractions
kheerii
i dont get it
$\frac{1}{x^4} - \frac{2}{x^5} = \frac{x}{x^5} - \frac{2}{x^5} = \frac{x-2}{x^5}$

Hi, I’m struggling with trig identities and am not sure how to finish this problem (or if i’ve even started it right). Could I get someone to explain it to me?
I don't think the jump from the second to the third step is right
Can you tell me what you've done?
used the cofunction formula to get the cot term to be tan theta^2, converted sec and tan on the other term to 1/cos and sin/tan
then i saw bc they’re multiplied the tans could cancel out leaving a tan without the ^2 in the first term and a one in the second
i thought it was right but i can’t figure out where to go from here so i guess it might not be

So I got this probability question:
Theres 20 students in a class (in which has 14 males and 6 females), what are the chances to pick 6 students to have 2 being the class monitor, and 5 of them to be females
if someone can solve this and give me an final answer
how many class monitors are there in the entire class? 2?
yeah what are the chances to pick 6 students to have 2 being the class monitor, and 5 of them to be females
You'll pick 6 students,
Chances of 2 of them being the class monitor
and 5 of them being female
seriously no one.
class monitor?
what does that mean
"A person who leads the class" kinda shi

@royal oar the first pic is for Q18 and the second for Q20. Let me know if you dont get it
For step one for questiojn20 ISNT it supposed to be -0.5x?
I used how many passenegrs are remaining
so for example if it had 100 passngers and 1/2 passengers (50) got off, that means 1/2 remains (also 50)
also for the second stop. If 1/3 got out, then 2/3 remained

i need to differentitate
-x/(x+y)^2 wrt y
Show us how you got that answer...
i can rewrite it as
-x(x+y)^-2
the -x is constant so i can take it outside and diff the rest
so i get -x (-2(x+y)^-3)
which is same as
2x/(x+y)^3
i am stupid. that is f_yy LOL
Umm.. are you sure that expression to the right is what you need?
Don't you need to differentiate with x now?

so like i thought like the original function is odd so whole thing equal zero but this guy expanded and when he did that way it was
not actually zero
thats a odd function right
why this ain't zero
well i think it is cuz two functions were combined and this works only when there is a single
function
but then there is
☠️
OH WAIT
THIS SHIT AIN"T
SYMMETRIC AROUND THE
ORIGIN
OH YEH
GOD DAMN
THATS IT
nope!!
ok!!

Hi - why is the particular integral here ae^-x and not axe^-x? Doesn't e^-x appear in the complementary function?
@willow sigil Has your question been resolved?
<@&286206848099549185>
u mean for the non-homogeneous part right?
yes
i think i figured it out by myself lmao
is because is a guess
u are guessing the particular solution will be in the form ae^-x
because you have a 2 in the front
i will paste what my understanding after you're done typing
curious as to what you have to say
hm I mean
as far as I know is because you are guessing the form of the answer right
and because u have only an exponential with a coefficient
you will guess the particular solution will be in that form, so then when you differentiate and plug in the y'' and y' you don't get a non-sense expression
like 1=0
you have to make sure you include all the possible coefficients
hmmm
that makes sense
xe^-x gives nonsense
this was my understanding:
i think it is because of the trig term with the e^-x
the whole reason multiplication by x is a thing is because otherwise substituting it in will give diff eq = 0
a particular integral that is part of the complementary solution will not give anything useful when trialled (it cannot give the non-homogenous part)
but in this case, e^-x is not a part of the complementary solution
because e^-x is not the same as e^-x (cos(x)) or e^-x (sin(x))
a particular integral of e^-x (cos(x)) would not be useful when trialled since it would give diff eq = 0
but e^-x is fine
i still don't know why it is multiplication by x specifically
it is not multiplying by x is it?
but that's a more general thing
it is a coefficient a
oh yeah
what i'm saying is that the non-homogenous part is e^-x
and even though e^-x "appears" (is in) the complementary function
the thing that is trialled is e^-x
because e^-x is not part of the complementary function actually
when u say complementary function you mean the particular solution right(?)
oh it may be the terminology of my uk exam board lol
complementary function is the solution considering the homogenous part
everything non-homogeneous function of x is particular
oh
I mean but like
Is your question why they put an "a" before the e^-x?
my original question was why it was ae^-x and not axe^-x
hm ok I see
because the solution to the homogenous part is e^-x (Acos(x)+Bsin(x))
and e^-x is in that
but not really lol
oh I see
ok when u solve for the particular solution
the right side of the equation in this case
u have to completely forget about the homogeneus part
remember the linearity of the differentiation
it doesnt matter the function you have on the left, because it will be always independent from whatever is on the left
remember particular solution + homogeneous solution = general solution!
so if you diffeentiate this you can just differentiate the particular solution and homogeneus separately
if the particular solution is ae^-x, then independently of the homogeneus solution, you just guess the form to be be^-x
You're right it's this - the modification rule is technically applied when the particular solution you assumed is a root of the homogeneous solution (if it's a double root, then it's a case of multiplying by t^2 as I'm sure you know). As a rule of thumb you can generally apply it when it 'looks like' the homogeneous solution because that generally means it's a root, but here as you've probably found out ae^-x doesn't actually give you a root because of the sin and cos, so you don't need to modify it
huh
If your auxiliary eqn had real solutions and so your xh(t) took the form C1e^at + C2e^bt then you'd have to modify your particular solution
here is the particular part
oh I see
but this is not the case right(?)
Yeah exactly it's got complex solutions, so the sin and cos mean the 'standard' form of the assumed particular solution is just fine
oh I see, I didn't knew the particular solution could be affected by the homogeneus part
but it makes a little bit sense
I mean that is why laplace transforms are superior
i have not started undergrad yet lmao
i have exams in 2 weeks on this, and we only get taught this much in UK A levels (exams for 18 year olds)
Yeah, try solving y'' - 4y' + 3y = 5e^t
You'll have real sols to the auxiliary and your particular solution will be a root
that would have uhhhh ate^t particualr
Try using it, you'll find you get something that breaks the universe
Hence you then multiply by t
hm cool, I mean this is still lower division math but its very good that u are learning this already
lol
lets see
You'll have a leg up assuming you're off to study engineering/something similar
yeah
it's not part of normal UK maths
it's part of "further maths" qualification lol
most people who take A level maths do not learn this
only 1st order
Then you get to the delights of PDEs which are far more fun XD
oh i've heard
i won't be doing engineering but i'll be doing pure maths at university
or well i say that
ok I see
🗡️
i can take applied modules and i will have to
daksjfh
Jk pure maths is fun, scares me though
aaa srry:(
yeah, it is very advanced math skajldhf
honestly fair
i may end up going into applied
diff equations are my favorite math topic
is the crossover bewteen lots of things
one method I love to solve DE is with series
but I am not very good at it
you let the solution be a power serie of some form, and differentiate it
and plug everything in, my roomie taught me that but forgot jkdsahf
reminds me of my friend trying to do gaussian integral with maclaurin series
he got stuck at like the last limit part
I was an engineer at a UK uni but lived with some mathematicians, some of the notation they used gave me palpitations lmao
heh nice
are you in the US?
did you do A Levels?
series makes everything easier! but you end with a serie as an answer and that wouldn't be valid
you need the exact value
hm yes ajdshfb
ah i see
thought it was a good guess lol
there is a very powerful tool to compute series, it is called polylogarithm functions!
IB cos my school was weird hahaha, but I've been tutoring A level math/further math for a few years or so so am familiar with the suffering lmao
jksahd I mean I'm not from here, but I'm studying here
lol I also did IB
oh IB
i have a friend who is doing it
they regret taking it
oh damn you too
I mean it made uni pretty easy, IB HL math/physics were brutal XD
they are nothing compared to college physics
scary
I did occasionally implode from the number of assignments tho
yes that's true, but they don't put enough of vectors and calculus into physics in IB
I think that is a problem, because in college physics everything is about that
True gotta do the math for the calc/vector stuff, I resented the amount of theoretical stuff in IB physics sometimes
you finished undergrad?
if you're tutoring a level further you're probably familiar with what they teach
though the options do depend
like i will have done a very shallow dive into group theory, recurrence relations, multivar calc and matrices (for matrices my spec only really teaches eigenvalues/vectors on a basic level)
Hence engineering lol
it is not, you are very inteligent as it seems, if you understand what the symbols bean, you can learn pretty much everything!
well i have already lol
my exam on that is in 2 months
Yeah I graduated, flying planes now xD
group theory 💀
abstract algebra
thanks god I don't have to study that for engineering
And yeah I'm pretty familiar, it varies but engineering means I've encountered all of it to an extent even if I didnt study it in sixth form lol
that is fair
i have done some linear algebra and basic analysis (riemann integration and limits but not differentiability lmao)
but this is outside of school
pilot???
it's not so bad in a level
but then again that is a level
i've done axioms and lagrange theorem
that's it lol
I love integration, I am actually working on a personal project, I am developing a new generalized method
Yee
damn
ryanair?
lolll
that is so cool
@willow sigil what are you planning to study in college(?)
also how tf did you go from engineering degree to pilot
In the middle of training at the moment but I'm training with BA lmao
lol
No real academic requirements for being a pilot just didn't want to go straight from school to flight school and liked applying math to irl stuff haha
masters in mathematics
so 4-year course on just plain mathematics
obvs when i get into uni i can chop and change
like my brother went from data science 1st year to maths and stats 2nd year
he found the compsci too easy
matlab and a bit of java, I pawn most of my coding problems off onto my compsci grad friends tho lol
lol cool, I know many people that study applied mathematics, actually I work as a tutor here and have many coworkers that are majoring that
YES
PLEASE
ah i flew with them uhhhh 7 years ago
they were good
idk i just remember having a nosebleed and the flight attendant being really nice lol
gave me like a shit ton of snacks (whole ass box)
i was 10
I think I broke the app
Quite tricky for me to help with matlab now as I lost access to the matlab software when I graduated XD there's definitely a discord for it somewhere or stackoverflow carried me
how tf did you even get in
genuinely curious
i may go and try to become a train driver for a while after uni
before i go do my PGCE and NQT and whatever and become a teacher
ChatGPT is probably super good too but I graduated just before it came out
hm I will try that
lmao i used chatgpt to write me a neural network once
i had 1 day before a presentation
I will try looking for one
it worked out all good actually after some tweaking
Saved a lot, parents helped a bit, then just applied to BA in training (a bit like applying to jobs in the final year of uni)
Far too many rounds of assessment later I got an offer XD
i see
sweet
that sounds really cool
well
maybe not the 32525 assessments
but yk
yeah other than that it's pretty cool, can't really complain lmao
fair lol
damn you two genuinely sound like really cool people
would love to have you two as friends
but we're just talking over discord lmao
the help has been very much appreciated, thank you
hm I don't think I can find help for my code in the matlab discord sv
aw thank u<3
where r u guys from(?)
we do actually have less stabbings and better teeth than you
I mean u sound also very intelligent, I mean you are 18 and already study all this
wait actually you're not american what are you lol
Hahaha well gl in your A Levels I suspect you'll be just fine if all you're struggling with is ODEs they're pretty tricky as A Level goes XD Ping me a DM if you want curious how you find pure math once you start at uni lol
South ftw
hm It is complicated
but yes, I am not from the us
17
i skipped a year 4 in primary school lmao
sure can do
i think i'll be fine for my a levels i need A*A*A, my mocks a few weeks ago were A*AA
maths further maths physics
sweet
2 A*s good lord, oxbridge?
warwick
o
i did not apply to oxbridge lmao
Wowee I didn't know they were that demanding
was not interested
Neither me friends there mega suffered
Does warwick still do step for math applicants?
lmao i have heard stories of people just dropping off the map lmao once they go oxbridge
like workload so intense
accommodation so expense 💀
have to move out every 8 weeks 💀
a university in the UK
fairly new for a uni
opened 1960s
yes
but i am not taking step
oh lol I see
Why?
Test of Mathematics for University Admission?
so my offer was reduced from 3 A* to A*A*A
what is step:(
uhhhh i really cannot be arsed
This is a big win, nicely done haha
it's in the middle of my a levels
aye
Some exam that scared me when I was in sixth form, havent looked at it more recently though XD
oh
Have you tried to prepare for it or something?
entrance exam for university maths - you need to do it for cambridge maths
but other unis reduce the grades you need in normal a level subjects if you do well in it
no xd
i didn't register for step
i don't need it; thank fuck
Oh alright just have 1 month before it so yeah
lol sounds complex jdsahkf
I feel a little bit dumb now
yeah not needing an A* in physics is awesome
means i can go from about needing 85% overall to 75%; buys me a lot of leeway
Well so far is 3-2 which is suck
shoud've gone to the uk instead of the us
Like to get 2-1/S is quite hard you need to be fast and precise
Year that my friend started there lmao
arguably
i can't speak much for how the us education system is i don't know enough xd
it is good but not as in the uk as I can see
yeah
i have friends who are going to cambridge
well, one needs like A*A*A and 1-1 💀
yup
Yeah I know.
I know I won't get 1
But my classmates seems to fall short as well so I kinda want to figure out some strategy
i visited oxford
Because I have done around 70+ questions maybe more and I can probably do 3 questions on a lucky day. I haven't tried applied yet, I am doing physics so it might be useful
i kid you not the main bits of oxford felt too nice lol
i'm not used to a city without some shithole areas
though if i looked hard enough that would probably be the case
i wasn't so much a fun of the posh vibe
and like being fined for stepping on grass bruh
Better to get 1 in step then getting 70/75 in further math
i would probably get used to oxford after a while
but yeah i also couldn't be bothered to meet early deadline
ah
are you applying to cambridge? what's your offer?
oh you just need a single 2 lol
I thought warwick was a league of legends champion
It's a small world XD
I am not going to give up on this
I obliterated their Dota team when I was at uni but yeah I seem to recall them having a good rep for LoL
JHDGSJA
I play league a lot
on the weekends
i am going to join warwick's CS team
one large reason i chose warwick over other unis (i applied warwick lancaster glasgow durham bristol; durham is my insurance)
weekdays I cant bc I work and study and I get very tired
was because they have really good esports with industry links and shit
and i have like
5k hours in cs
LoL is better...
lol
I looked at Durham, despite being a Kent boy I couldn't deal with the feigned poshness from so many of them, if you go there just avoid castle accommodation and you'll be fine lmao
Maybe I should join an esports team
Only 1k :/

guys your englishes are so good wth
I mean u are native speakers I guess
makes sense
it is!!
I like my Dota vibes learning a new moba would mega stress me out tbh
that is completely fair
guys do u play minecraft(?)
you have to rank colleges for durham; i ranked the more modern/more relaxed (less posh ones) top
i didn't see castle on my offer holder day a week ago or so
it was closed
but i wasn't so interested in it either
if i do go to durham (offer A*AC lmfao they really liked my TMUA score), i could still get allocated my 16th college choice 💀
Wait what do you mean by posh?
Like does it matter for undergraduate?
used to play a fuckton
i installed cs on 22/12/2018
kind of haven't really left it since
still though; mc is a great chill game
still play it sometimes
don't always want to sweat in a tac fps lmao
I love minecraft:)
indeed
I mean it doesn't matter but it was more a case of the kind of people I wanted to be around, I went to Surrey (mainly because it was one of the only unis that did medical engineering and it is incredibly reputable for it), fairly posh so I felt somewhat at home but not the kind of combative posh that a lot of Durham peeps are
but I haven't played in a while, I am more into LoL now
Location and degree content should be your primary factors really
Ditto this lol
Ah I am just too confused with ranking system in UK, like who cares if modulus are more or less the same for most universities, anyway you are not doing researches or anything important on undergraduate, so it more about grades.
This said Durham is a lovely uni and I know a lot of people who went there and are very well adapted humans so please don't take this as a suggestion that you shouldn't go, I just didn't get on with it too much XD
Yes this is also very true, UK rankings are not that useful
It's useful to get a general feel of whether the uni is 'known' for the subject, but like the difference between 1st and 20th is really non-existent for graduate outcomes
that's fair
i think my steam is on my discord profile; you can see the agames and stuff i've played there
there's like too many different rankings
and they're not consistent
when i chose my universities i was like "top 20 or so? yeah anything from there works"
Yeah
there were some unis i specifically avoided
like oxbridge
imperial too a stem-only uni
i want to talk to people doing other stuff lol
Why predicted grades so weak for application?
I mean in my collegue they took only paper 1 for predicted grades which is hilarious since AS level have 2 of them
Imperial is Oxbridge level loss-of-soul-and-will-to-live for stem lol
What is stem? Like I have seen this phrase but never bothered to Google it
Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics
Alright I googled it
yep
oh cool
yeah jkdsahk
I study here mechanical and aerospace engineering in the us
stem majors are the best
wdym?
Nevermind.
i got predicted 3 A* with my phys teachers full well knowing i was only on the cusp of an A*
but they figured it would be best if they predicted me A*, so that's what i applied with
tbf unless you crumble under exam pressure people tend to exceed their prior performance in the real thing haha
I pulled some 7s out the bag in the IB that before the real exam I was way off of lmao
i have a friend who was rejected for aerospace at bristol lol
Yeah but I mean I think year 1 tests should be a little bit harder.
oh yeah they should
i mean my school is kinda special, so i can't really comment on those for that
That's cool
i would mention my school but i'm not doxxing myself lol (yet)
lol no:(
an A in AS is worth an E in a level xd
i took chemistry for 1 year
Yeah
dropped afterwards since i really couldn't be bothered
I mean Im just getting a minor in aeroespace, but I am still doing lower division curses
chemistry
Love chemistry
Chemical engineers scare me
Exactly but I haven't droppe it
yeah unfortunate
some courses are really competitive, like PPE, maths at oxbridge, aerospace at bristol (because bristol is best for it)
i have a friend who applied for computer science; he's gotten 3 rejections
I did a year of medicine before defecting to being a pilot knowing I could earn twice as much, words cannot describe how relieved I was that chemistry didn't feature at all despite it being a requirement
and he had 4 A* predicted
oh
I mean here in the us I'm not sure
That's why they need to make them harder or make entrance exams for comptetetive courses in any uni
u just do your lower division, pay 70k dollars a year and ur good
and maintaining a good gpa
how did you defect to being a pilot?
was medicine your masters or?
Like I would prefer to do more hard tests and fail in most of them then doing a couple of easy one and doing mediocre at some of them.
70k/year is why I turned down my Stanford offer much to the dismay of my school lmao
Started a graduate medicine degree
Then left after a little over a year and started flight school instead basically XD
Medicine a very poor investment in the UK rn I feel
It just takes millions of years to study for it with less work avaliable then other sectors
ah i see
was that a 1 year masters?
also what how does flight school require chem?
Indeed, and my starting salary in the NHS would be 35k whereas at BA it's closer to 60 lmao
rip my friend doing med at oxford
he's in his 2nd year currently
what, so r u a pilot, engineer and doctor(?)
I admire his sacrifice
NHS with this tory government 💀
i can't even vote in the next election lol
thankfully it doesn't matter
Grad medicine is 4 years, I got some kind of certificate from it having done the better part of 18 months but not really needed lol
ah
I feel so unproductive:(
whattt
ah dw about it i'm revising genuinely for exams for the first time (excluding MAT and TMUA) ever in my life
and i have 2 weeks until my most important paper
i fuck that paper up i say goodbye to my further maths A*
dw (?)
2 weeks and what paper?
Ah what why how?
One paper 2,4 hour?
uh
i take further maths
that is what the OCR MEI B spec is
2 hours 40 minutes
Wait so you can take alternative specs and they are still equal to a level?
the IB literature exam 1 was 2 hours 10 minutes, and it was just all writting
in a paper
i see
yes
my hand was dead after that exam
wait are you an international student?
wrote like 7 pages
Is it harder then the one for 1:30 minutes?
in the UK you have like different exam boards that all give the same qualification
what exam board?
i wrote 15 pages in an english exam summer 2022
lmao
but by hand
though thats on me for big handwriting
in a 2:10 exam
yes
I know but there used to be much more specs for a level like math, further math and further further math or whatever
lol that is crazy
that's fair
and I ended up with a 5 as a grade in IB
50 words per line
aproximately
I have friends that do 7 words per line
bro i wrote like 6 - 8 words per line
my handwrite is super super small
ah yeah nah
just diff examboards
I don't do notes actually
"guys what are hand cramps"
Too much time unless I do math
I love doing notes in classes:)
making notes
or howeer u say it
i think you'll find that may hurt you later on
idk maybe it won't
but you will probably need to learn to do that at some point
notes are very useful
even if you never really look at them again
I do sometimes but for physics it easier not to do notes on lesson however at home I do notes
writing notes by hand is better for retention and understanding than typing electronically btw
ah that's fair
my roomate, he is on the same chem class as me but different section, he doesnt do notes and I have like 70 pages of notes in total. My grade is 110% his is like 70%
When I used to learn chemistry I literally rewrited a book 1:1 ratio so I can write notes pretty fast
There is just too much going on lesson to start writing anything, that's why I just don't have enough time for notes on lesson
lmfao
i forget you have extra cred in the us as well
yeah
So that's my notes I do at home
I mean but it is still difficult, the extra credit usually is a lot harder ksajdhkf
what
Too much to do on lessons
There is too much of them I had like 3 bags of them.
2 of them already in a bin
ah love cgp
carried my gcse sciences cramming
Yeah
what is cramming
the fraudulent practice of adding unauthorized charges to a customer's phone bill.
lol
last minute revision right before an exam
Yeah bread is my favourite emoji and cat my favourite animal, so... Whatever
I do quintuple checks for my exams here
for my chem stoichiometry thing I had
I would confirm getting the atomic mass of copper from my answer
Yeah can remember revising 30 minutes before exams just to be 5/4 marks away from 9 in gces
i need to do practice papers lol
I have a strategy for exams idk if this will work for u
ah unfortunate
so many of my gcse results i was just into the boundary lol or right on
so i was fine
I am a very fast thinker so what I do is I just speedrun the exam with the answes, I dont car if they are right or wrong, I just solve it in 1 min each
and then go over them a second time
That's good because running out of time is bad thing
my previous roomate taught me that hm
yes, I have many classmates that run out of time, so that is what I do
that way u get rid of the easy questions, and u use the time left to double check
bc if u double check and u have missing questions ur cooked
Yeah I just skip multiple choice questions
KJSHDS
And do them at the end
those are the hardest ones
In 5 minutes
Yeah
I am not sure for what reason the were even created
so if I am doing some kind of vector problem, I double check with that
ksajdhgf
Like why would you want to do physics just to have 4 solutions for a problem
I don´t trust myself enough 😢
4 possible*
yesss
Last time I got 15/20 so not bad
I mean and professors don't even say everything I mean
uh that is very good!
tomorrow I have to present a project for my MatLab class!
i completely change the topic of the convo
but anyway
How long this presentation take?
I would like to know which grad would u give my project
only 3 minutes 💀
we are like 60 people in the class
and everyone must present

Yeah but 3 minutes is wild
is it too less(?)
yes I it not a lot of time, but we need to explain like
why is your cide usefil
limitations
why is it good for society
how it works
How long it take to make (cook) presentation?
my code has 120 lines
hm
idk like 10 mins
in 10 mins I think I would say everything I'd want to say
bc I wont be explaining every single line I mean
my code has an if inside of a for inside of a for inside of a for inside of an if inside of an if
So what will be your final project for Bsc?
Yeah I know
I mean what kind of project you will have for your final year? .
Because for physics is Standart model or whatever
Yeah that's tuff
hm I still need 2 years
of studying and I have to take one class during my last 2 semesters
that is for my final project
but for now this is just a final project for programming

sajhdg
Alright good night /evening /afternoon
Ah wait evening and afternoon the same thing
Whatever
Sndnfnkdkd
22:22:bleakcat:
what(?)
Nevermind

I will make my 8 hour sleep see you tomorrow
like
vector plotting in matlab 🩷
I love vectors
I love telling to my tutees, you cant do that because is a vector!
and then their reaction is like
jhdasfksj well anyway
I will finish my thing<3
today I learned about education in the UK jkdsahf

Today I learn that you can eat tiramisu with your fingers
tiramisu(?)
oh
I am lucky that I have good one near me. Like every shop have different one and they all have different taste
Alright good luck
you have really cute gifs damn
i kinda don't wanna
i didn't expect a simple ish question to make friends and have such nice conversations lol
yeah It is crazy
you are!
idk i haven't seen you but i'm not going to doubt the fact
positivity is nice
genuine positivity ofc
awww thanks
I mean cuteness is subjective
idk ah
aww noo poor cat
well guys if u want to play league of legends or minecraft
I want to so
lmk:)
sure can do 💜
ooooh i thought you knew
the whole time i thought you knew and i was confused at the ? marks
no uh
it means "don't worry"
klsadjhf
indeed:)
you have fun with that
take care; was amazing talking to ya
may we talk again soon 💜

What mistake did I make here😭the answer should be -1,-2, postive 4
Also please check if it's correct..
where'd you get $x^2 + 10x$
zeinvincible
Not + it's minus it's in question
Oh that i just added them
🐥
Or was I not supposed to 😭
Thoug it doesn't matter that's a wrong one i didn't use them I was just trying to solve but that's a wrong one .. ignore that
How did you go from the first line to the second line?
Hahaha wait wait
Like this like this baka
The answer should be -1,-2,+4 but i got -4 why why
🐥i just noticed that I used +1 in synthetic 😭

Hi can someone help me?? 🥺
Im working or conics specifically ellipses
No need to ask “Can I ask…?” or “Does anyone know about…?”—it’s faster for everyone if you just ask your question! See https://dontasktoask.com/
!status
What step are you on?
1. I don't know where to begin.
2. I have begun but got stuck midway.
3. I got an answer but I was told that it's wrong.
4. I got an answer and would like my work checked.
5. I have a question about someone else's work/solution.
6. I have completed the problem and don't need help anymore. Thank you.
7. None of the above
wait where's ur question
try using "completing the square method"
These are from notes
see, you used completing the square method here as well
so do the same for this problem
The thing that has me stuck is in the problem they gave us there’s z w and v
$$(x+\frac{z}{2})^2 + (y + \frac{w}{2})^2 + (-z^2 - w^2 + v) = 0$$
penguin
@shadow musk Has your question been resolved?
Just give me the answer 😭🙏🏽
try it yourself and ask if you need any help
can you find out the value of z and w from this and knowing the centres?
I think i got z equals 6 but im not sure
z=4 and w = -6 right
How did u get that 😰
(x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 where (h,k) is the centre. does that help? all you need to do is compare
Compare what
centre of this ellipse and this equation

I feel like my working is correct and answer. Unless it isnt, So I just wanted to see if someone else gets the same answer
cuz if so then ill just email professor and say i think Q is broken

I am given $$f(x,y) = \begin{cases} 1 & 0 \leq x \leq 1 \text{ and } \abs{y} \leq 1-x \ 0 & \text{ else } \end{cases}$$
and I want to calculate $P(X \leq 0.5, Y \leq 0.5).\$
So I was wondering if that would be a square $R = [0, 0.5] \times [0, 0.5]$ that I would be integrating over, such that
$$\int_R f : \dd A = \int_0^{0.5} \int_0^{0.5} \dd x \dd y = \frac{1}{4}$$
Is that correct? In the solution it says $$P(X \leq 0.5, Y \leq 0.5) = \frac{5}{8}$$
𝔸dωn𝓲²s
your square is too small
there are points outside R that f maps to 1
the support of f is a triangle not a square
@restive gorge Has your question been resolved?
If I integrate over the triangle (the whole region) I would get 1
sure that's expected
yes but you computed P(0 <= X <= 0.5 and 0 <= Y <= 0.5)
integral over whole space of any pdf should be 1
