Cannibals spawning nonstop

But does anyone know how to make cannibals stop constantly showing up and attacking?

This is my first night on this save. Ever since I came to this spot (almost at the corner of the map) to build a water base, they’ve been spawning nonstop. I kill one group, and another shows up right after. It’s usually like 3 at a time I kill them, then 3 more come, and it just keeps going.

A bit uphill from my base there’s a cannibal camp, and slightly above that there’s another one. I already cleared the closest camp, but it didn’t seem to help at all.

I honestly don’t know how I’m supposed to build here. I can’t even cut down a tree or place anything because they keep coming nonstop.

Also, I played a bit more and then these 3 guys showed up. I’m not sure, but I don’t think they’re supposed to come yet.

I can't send picture of the 3 cannibals that showed up but one got light on his head and golden mask, i think all got like some clothes made of skin, this other got skull paint on his face, same does the other but above that he had some green hair i think and a mask thats around ur neck and u like pull up over ur nose.

They're bigger than the normal ones that run around.

Next time try leaving the cannibals alone until they attack you. That should give you couple of days to build your base before their aggression level rises enough to make them hostile.
