I think advertising is the bigger issue. But you are right I first want to get some things out that make the modding community worth joining (beyond the plenty good mods we already have). But after that we probably need to make some posts and videos on different platforms.
I hear quite often that people just have no clue this thing exists.

When Shoko updates the site could have a space where people can download modding templates
with user friendly instructions on how to edit them
