theres a mod for snap to grid in subnautica (similar building placement for standalone items) and that made everything 10x better for me atleast so it'd be great for SOTF too

The modding community is much smaller, but the mod devs that are around are quite skilled. This could prove a challenge for anyone wanting to attempt it though.
