honestly just give virginia both the shotgun and the pistol there are 2 spawns for each so both of you can be armed

same thing happened for me, ive also been loosing other small items like the cross

it happened to me once and after doing this it never happened again
but i notice that this worked only the first time you spot the bug the idea is that you technically hold multiple version of your gun that dont have attachments

1. remove the gun from your backpack if its shortcuted there
2. Click combine on your gun (even after clicking combine look at your weapon crate it will still have a pistol inside keep clicking combine on these pistols until you see the one with the attachments)
3. on you reach the pistol with the attachments click remove on the already selected pistols in the middle of your screen and once you clear the matt of them click combine on the pistol that has attachments.
4. if there are any more dupes of pistols in your weapon crate just click combine on them .
5. remove the attachments of the pistol and place them in your weapon crate with the pistol too (at this point the weapon crate should be empty and clear off all the dupes)
6. Reopen the crate and build your pistol with the attachments you want and from noone it should be fixed

this only worked for me if you spot the issue and dont start equipping / unequipping the gun
