I installed discord in 2017. It was nothing but a call app for gaming to me. Then, I decided to browse different community servers and I found music bots. Groovy wasn't the first bot. But I began searching for better bots and found groovy. Part of the reason why I kept using discord was because of music bots like groovy. And I'm thankful for that, because I made a shit load of friends via discord, we connected through music, through groovy. I want to thank every single soul who worked hard to develop and keep groovy online. I wish you all the best with your future endeavours.

I am very sad about what happened, but there is nothing we can do about it. I can understand why Google did it, but I'm sure there are other ways to do it. I've been using Groovy for a very long time, and that's mainly why I'm sad. But on the other hand, I'm glad that the owner is telling everything straight, and not hiding things here like Rythm's owner, who seems to have a criminal complaint on his hands because he ignored Google's warning. I'm not 100% sure, but also the developers behaviour on their servers is pretty weird, I posted the picture in #off-topic.

Been using Groovy for years. Ive sat in discord calls for years now and while I have Youtube premium, sitting with others jamming to music is way more enjoyable. As an indie developer who works on his game through discord, Groovy was an essential part of setting the mood.
Ive seen it used for DnD. Ive seen it used for introducing ppl to music.
Ive paid extra to even have 3 bots around multiple discords.

Thought I might as well say my piece even though it will be lost in a few messages time.

Groovy really helped out over the last 2+ years, lockdowns and all. It was always available to listen with friends or just joke around (our bot might have been at 400% volume quite frequently). Friends and I would spend hours in call during online lessons, with Groovy playing. It honestly did make times a lot easier, as crazy as it might seem.

It's also allowed me to meet people on Discord that I might not have interacted with before, and discover an interest in the same genre of music, and the ability to steal their music with saved queues was a plus. Probably my favorite feature was vaporwave though, that was pretty groovy.

So much so, that I decided to to attempt joining the support team, which I joined in May last year. I am very thankful for the opportunity. It's been a lot of fun, and a great learning experience. Especially working with everyone else on the staff team. I think what did make Groovy so special was how passionate the three core staff members are about the project, I can't name any other big bots where most of the support is instantly provided by the developer on Discord.

My only regret is not finding it earlier.

So RIP Groovy, you'll be missed by us all.

When we installed Groovy in our discord almost 2 years ago it was barely used - Then I installed a "chat room" under it called "NighWatch" I had come to find out how many people were insomniacs / felt alone / was up when others where going down / Huge Game of Thrones people. It built up a special place in our discord where the users could be themselves - I was DMed specifically thanking me for creating the rooms because they felt as if they could be themselves, we even had people "come out" and feel safe in the room. Music transcends culture and language and having such a world wide community the music really helped our discord bridge a gap that we didn't know was there. When I had a question or if something was wrong I would come in here and the Devs and the MOds were SO helpful - I want to thank everyone who has worked on Groovy from the bottom of my heart and let you guys know that this software literally has changed lives and saved lives - I'll end this how I end the streams that I MOD - CHAT - Where ever you are take care of yourself - Take care of each other Peace & Love to all....

Groovy really helped me out during COVID-19 (last year/this year) I've gone to a noob at Groovy - to a pro at using it helping and helping many users (maybe you, or others)
I started using Groovy in june 2020 (just noticed i put 2021 lmfao), I noticed it playing in a 24/7 channel, I've went to join it and the 24/7 music was great, then I've invited Groovy to more and more servers.

Groovy was a fun bot to use in my discord servers, as it was actively used and most of the users in the server agreed as it did have 24/7, and most bots did not. It was my first-to go bot and Groovy made me to make my own Music bot (moved owners due to me being "stressed") and it was kind of hard for me around them days, and 9 days later (20/12/20) I've became support. What was brillaint.

The most best thing about me becoming staff was, with the staff I met everyday, the staff here at Groovy are awesome! Being staff here changed me alot & I've learnt alot from the staff I work alongside nearly everyday

Most of my friends agreed with using Groovy, as it did have some of the best features on Discord for music, it really did make my Discord Servers a little more better with Groovy with them Grooves .

I've changed from a discord noob in May 27th, 2020. Into a discord pro, using it nearly every day.

I never really set my sights on becoming staff - I just love helping people, so I started helping in #further-assistance. what a shame about groovy honestly. as part of the mio staff and formerly eli bot staff i've seen the way bots die from something done by a bigger power whether it be discord or google. But i love how everyone is coming together in the aftermath to appreciate the bot.
