you might have a different discord wrapper installed like py-cord or discum that is altering the original discord module

You should uninstall discord.py-self as it is against discord TOS and is therefore against

You did not have to delete you messages, If you were not using it. If you are using a self bot there is no reason to. You can do everything that you need to with a normal bot.
