Remember to:

  • Ask your Python question, not if you can ask or if there's an expert who can help.
  • Show a code sample as text (rather than a screenshot) and the error message, if you've got one.
  • Explain what you expect to happen and what actually happens.

:warning: Do not pip install anything that isn't related to your question, especially if asked to over DMs.

can you share one of your images here to test with?

#

ahh, for resample, using Image.Resampling.NEAREST

#

what format is the image?

#

I think your original image is in poor resolution to begin with. It's definitely not a crisp image

#

I'm testing with my own sprites and they resize fine

#

what are you even doing to the input file?

#

the input is nice and crisp

#

I've never really worked with webp but it might be losing resolution with that

#

this is with aliasing

#

this is without

#

a huge difference

#

scaled up 4x

#

numpy perhaps

#

if your crop is just trying to cut the image in half

#

but I've cropped plenty with PIL and not run into issues like this

#

try saving to png and see if it makes a difference
