As telescopes around planet Earth watch, Mars is growing brighter in night skies, approaching its 2020 opposition on October 13. Mars looks like its watching too in this view of the Red Planet from September 22. Mars' disk is already near its maximum apparent size for earthbound telescopes, less than 1/80th the apparent diameter of a Full Moon. The seasonally shrinking south polar cap is at the bottom and hazy northern clouds are at the top. A circular, dark albedo feature, Solis Lacus (Lake of the Sun), is just below and left of disk center. Surrounded by a light area south of Valles Marineris, Solis Lacus looks like a planet-sized pupil, famously known as The Eye of Mars . Near the turn of the 20th century, astronomer and avid Mars watcher Percival Lowell associated the Eye of Mars with a conjunction of canals he charted in his drawings of the Red Planet. Broad, visible changes in the size and shape of the Eye of Mars are now understood from high resolution surface images to be due to dust transported by winds in the thin Martian atmosphere.

What appear to be boulders fresh from a tumble down a mountain are really grains of Ottawa sand, a standard material used in civil engineering tests and also used in the Mechanics of Granular Materials (MGM) experiment. The craggy surface shows how sand grans have faces that can cause friction as they roll and slide against each other, or even causing sticking and form small voids between grains. This complex behavior can cause soil to behave like a liquid under certain conditions such as earthquakes or when powders are handled in industrial processes. MGM uses the microgravity of space to simulate this behavior under conditions that carnot be achieved in laboratory tests on Earth. MGM is shedding light on the behavior of fine-grain materials under low effective stresses. Applications include earthquake engineering, granular flow technologies (such as powder feed systems for pharmaceuticals and fertilizers), and terrestrial and planetary geology. Nine MGM specimens have flown on two Space Shuttle flights. Another three are scheduled to fly on STS-107. The principal investigator is Stein Sture of the University of Colorado at Boulder. Following the contributors guide, running tox -e 2.7 on mitype gives error.

    TypeError: 'encoding' is an invalid keyword argument for this function

Expected behaviour

Should work fine.

Actual behaviour

Command errors out with exit status 1

We gotta modify that line under setup.py. But please be careful, because this file decides how mitype appears on pypi.

Bundle svg converter into Matter

As of now Matter has two dependencies.

  • ImageMagick: which brings the convert command for convertig icons in svg to png
  • Inkscape: big in size but improves the default ImageMagick svg converter a lot, without it, icons usually look odd.

These packages seem to be bringing a lot of trouble, it would be great to have an svg converter bundled directly into Matter so that there would be no more problems with dependencies.

  2. Убедиться, что оно не валится на импорте
  3. Убедиться, что оно не валится на запуске
    Как запустить: см. инструкцию. Нам нужен только PreprocessorTask поэтому заменяем TopicPredictorTask на PreprocessorTask в команде из инструкции.
  4. Проверить, что результат корректный.
  5. Закоммитить и сделать PR.

Всё правильно, если

  1. Выполняется до конца без ошибок
  2. Для каждого входного файла получается выходной файл, соответствующий инструкции

Improve Pascal VOC ref example: model weights

🚀 Feature

When we run baseline configuration :

python -m torch.distributed.launch --nproc 2 --use_env -m py_config_runner ./code/scripts/training.py ./configs/train/baseline_resnet101.py

When model is instantiated, it downloads ImageNet pretrained weights for ResNet backbone. In above case, it downloads twice the same file. Let's set up the model such that we run the training from scratch.

Refresh Airflow UI

Description

As the Airflow 2.0 is coming nearer it would be awesome to refresh the Airflow WebUI. By this it mostly means:

  • using some "modern colors" (how about Airflow logo palette?)
  • fixing some padding/spacing
  • and other small HTML / CSS touches

Use case / motivation

The main point is to refresh the look, not to rewrite the Web UI.

GitCollab es un proyecto que uttilizará bases de datos SQL, y nunca está de más crear una esquematización de las relacciones entre tablas de la base de datos siguiendo los siguientes criterios que son necesarios para que el proyecto funcione:

  • GitCollab tiene dos tablas principales, usuarios y proyectos
  • Los usuarios tienen que poder añadir proyectos para que otros usuarios los encuentren.
  • Los usuarios tienen que poder buscar proyectos donde colaborar.
  • Cada uno de los usuarios tiene que tener los siguientes atributos:
    • Imagen de usuario
    • Nombre
    • Nombre de usuario
    • Correo electrónico
    • Contraseña
    • Repositorios
    • Seguidores
    • Personas a las que sigue
  • Cada uno de los proyectos que un usuario suba a GitCollab tiene que tener los siguientes atributos:
    • Nombre
    • Descripción
    • Enlace a la página de GitHub o de GitLab

Esta tarea es complicada y el resultado final de GitCollab depende en parte de la eficiencia de las bases de datos. Por favor, no te propongas a esta tarea si:

Matter adds to the end of the /usr/sbin/grub-mkconfig script a call to itself so whenever the grub is updated (on a new kernel installation for example) matter can overwrite grub.cfg to put the icon classes in place.

However when the grub itself is upgraded, grub-mkconfig is overwritten effectively removing the Matter hook at the end, and you as an user need to "install" Matter again for keeping the correct icons.

One solution that comes to mind would be to place the hook on the package manager instead. With apt something like this would be needed. A problem with this approach is how to gracefully handle other package managers.

Hopefully there are other alternatives that you can come with. Any ideas are welcomed.

There should be a way to import the whole table as a document, which should stay a table.

Another option which I think makes more sense is to import each row (e.g. participant) as a document. This would allow using case information (when that gets implemented) to categorize participants, and also allow adding more responses without having to start over.

SVD is returning 4 pointers instead of 3

Description

When sending a tensor to a worker and performing SVD, returns four pointers instead of three. Also, the third one is not gettable. By experimentation, I have had to solve the issue using U, s, _, V = x.svd().

How to Reproduce

[FEATURE REQ] Export outputs to JSON

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Currently, the outputs are a tuple of urls and timestamps. It would be useful to have an option to export this data to a readable file such as JSON.

Describe the solution you'd like

A function in generic.Outputs called to_json that exports the history to the given filename in JSON format.

The exact structure of the JSON is discussed in this comment

The to_json function should, by default, export in the first format and a parameter must be provided to get output in the 2nd format (refer the comment linked above)

Describe alternatives you've considered

Other issues are opened for alternate formats (if you can't find an issue for the format you need, please open one)
